i read a synopsis of watchmen but havent gotten around to seeing the movie. however i can safely say i dont care about implication. its probably an insult anyway. and i know crabs is just sitting there with wikipedia and a thesaurus gloating in a sense of accomplishment over crafting a clever insult. clever, by his definition, being something most people wont understand. reeks of arrogance. so yeah. tldr: dont care.

well that whole post on nash vash whatever logic lost me in like, 4 seconds. i wasnt really paying attention though, because when i see a crab post thats more than like, 3 lines, i assume it's a convoluted and insulting overcomplication of some obvious point. i kind of just skim it to figure out if its insulting to me or not. if it isnt, i ignore it totally.

I'm trying to figure out which word I'm meant to have used a thesaurus to come up with. "Reckless"? "Inelegant"? And it's impossible to reference Watchmen without help from Wikipedia now? It wasn't exactly obscure even before it had a movie.

 

There's not a whole lot to read into there, though. It's just a reference to the Watchmen scene where the Comedian says he's the American Dream while using his flamethrower on random protesting civilians. It's just similar in that both Watchmen and that rep define the American Dream to be something less admirable than one might have hoped. If you want to dig deeper and stretch the comparison nonsensically, like "Tronta = Comedian = Rapist", then be my guest, but that was never the point and doesn't even begin to make sense.

 

As for Nash Logic, I'm a math major and Nash Equilibrium comes from game theory. >_>

the thesaurus and wikipedia reference was a generalization of all your posts, not just the one, see "nash logic". the implication being that a normal person would have to dig to figure out what you were talking about, given that you treat some obscure things as commonly understood. see "nash logic". the other implication, or at least the visual in my mind, is that of a conniving man child with books and other resources open, a large white board in the back with equations and notes scrawled over it, and a bulletin board loaded with maps, pictures, news articles and pins and strings connecting things in what seems like a haphazard fashion. all for the sake of attempting to sound more intelligent than someone on the internet :P

 

i dont know how insulting that visual will come off, but it was meant to be rather comedic, and given the ludicrous nature of it, i cant imagine someone taking offense to it.
