What Red Dragon Archfiend SHOULD be.

As it seems, Red Dragon Archfiend has the name "Archfiend". But, like many other cards, (Archfiend Zombie Skull) have NO effect related to the Archfiends. I have a Deck completely built around Archfiends, and is really making me mad that Archfiend cards have no effects related to them. So, I changed Red Dragon Archfiend to fit the theme.

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

Other "Archfiend" cards you control do not have to pay Life Points for their effects. When this card is specifically designated as a target of the effect of a card controlled by your opponent, when resolving the effect, roll a six-sided die. If the result is 2 or 5, negate the effect and destroy the opponent's card. When it is destroyed by this effect, roll the die again. This card may attack as many times this turn as it shows on the result of the die.

I support Archfiends, but I like the original card more than this. That being said, I think this is a good thought and a very true point: Archfiends are have no support within their "archetype."

Really, though, it's more like Archfiends are a category, and the archetype is nestled deep within, hiding and useless.

Again, though, I support this, so expect rep from me.

The word OCG word for "Archfiend" is a simple word meaning "Demon", so many unrelated cards are included in this archetype (not to the extended of Guardian though @@").

I have more problem with its name. It makes so much more sense to call it "Red Archfiend Dragon" rather than "Red Dragon Archfiend"...

8/10 pretty good.

GOOD ADVICE.

This will certainly help him improve on his card!

The card itself is pretty cheap. Like stated, "Archfiend" translates to "Demon", so the Archfiend monsters aren't specially one sub-type. They're scattered all over. (Mad Archfiend, Thought Ruler Archfiend, etc.)

Onto the cheapness factor of it, this thing is a walking "Pandemonium". 8-starred Synchros are laughably easy to get out these days, and this card is like a better version of "Stardust Dragon". It negates and destroys all cards your opponent tries to land on it 33% of the time, and if you manage to roll that 2 or 5, you now have a 3000 ATK monster that can attack six times in one turn. That's bad, and there's little that can counter this beast.

Overpowered.

Very true on the name thing. If it was "Red Archfiend Dragon" it would be "Red Demon Dragon" and have nothing to do for the set, just a synonymn. But "Red Dragon Archfiend" sounds like it would have Archfiend effects. If it was at the end, it sounds like it's part of the archtype, so it should have the effect. Archfiend General IS the archtype effect., it gets out Pandemonium, which specifically says, "All Archfiend monsters you control do not have to pay Life Points for their effects." which is a BIG help. Cyber Archfiend is kinda the archtype, because you have to pay, and is an electric Summoned Skull, but its a defense, like "Giant Soldier of Stone". If it has the "Archfiend" at the beginning or end, it's most likely part of the Archtype, (Like "Terrorking Archfiend" or "Archfiend Soldier") but if it's in the middle, it could just be "Demon".

The "Chess" Archfiends are the Archfiends that require Life Point payments (excluding Imprisoned Queen Archfiend). They (along with Archfiend's Roar, Falling Down, etc.) are the only real Archfiend support cards. Then there are the monsters that have "Archfiend" in there name and do qualify for Archfiend support but aren't "really" Archfiends.

The problem is in naming. Monsters that have "Demon" written in katakana have been named Archfiends. "Archfiend" is very distinctive, but "Demon" isn't. Because the first monsters to be called Archfiends happened to have a common theme, you're associating the word "Archfiend" with those monsters only. I mean, do you consider Gladiator Beast's Battle Archfiend Shield an Archfiend?

xfd @ all the debating. He wanted to curb a Synchro with Archfiend in the name to include Archfiend support.

He isn't trying to start a revolution, just had an idea.

I wish I could say anything different from Clair, but that pinpoints it.

A walking 8-star Synchro Pandemonium that can blow off an effect and potentially attack 3 or more times with 3000+ ATK..

Yeah, it's pretty plainly spelled out. Overpowered.

4/10.
