Jonnyfive
Someone just told me "Dark Bribe is a great way to help your opponent win."Told me to run Solemn over it.Here's how I look at it, you get 1 solemn you can use to negate stuff like starudust, starlight road, and oppression. Don't get me wrong, its a great thing, but your opponent probably has another waiting somewhere and you'll have payed half your life points just to stall one turn...and you could easily get solemned, bribed, or 1 of any other counters.I think I'd rather my opponent have 1 extra card in their hand than halving my life points for nothing. Wizarus
Dark Bribe rarely ever helps your opponent win the game. However, Solemn Judgement is better than Dark Bribe, since it can negate a much larger variety of cards and paying life points doesn't hurt card advantage. Here's what you should ask yourself before using either one: "Is the cost worth the effect I'm about to negate?" Activating either one can be your best or worst move depending on what you negate. Dr. Cakey
http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090206190246/yugioh/images/5/5b/MyBodyasaShieldCP01-EN-C-UE.jpg That's my own standard counter line-up ('cuz I'm don't run Starlight Road!!!). I will say that Dark Bribe is the most useful Counter Trap after Solemn. Unfortunately, you only have so much space for counters. Now, Dark Bribe's cost is certainly preferable to half of your Life Points, but Solemn's Summon negation is so very lovely - that's what it's very often used for. Solemn has a ridiculously large range and is Speed Spell 3. Sure other cards might negate their specific card type with a smaller cost, but no card does Solemn's job better. Why not run Solemn and the other negating cards you're referring to? Just use Solemn as a substitute for one of those cards.

Zauls
Solemn>>>Dark BribeDark Bribe is a -1. Picture it this way:Opp: Smashing Ground! You: HA! Dark Bribe!Opp: (Draws 1) HA! Fissure! lol...You: S*** On the other hand:Opp: Smashing Ground! You: HA! Solemn!Opp: Ummm.... ok, that's game to you. Seriously, you do not want to make your opponent draw a card. If it was discard 1, then it would be good.
darkwolf777
You can make up a ton of hypotheticals showing how it can turn against you, yet the chances of a specific card being draw in all of these cases are low >_> Correct, Dark Bribe is a -1 at face value, but it really depends on what is being negated, based on what could've happened if the card went through. Sure, the card drawn could be as bad or worse than what was about to be played, but in my experience (from what I can tell) there's never an immediate counter such as two Smashing Grounds at once. Either way, they still used two Smashing Grounds in the end x.x This is usually my Spell/Trap negation of choice after Solemn Judgment.

That 1 card only makes your opponent slightly more likely to get a card that is just as good. Solemn has a wider range but the life point cost can be rather high but is worth it sometimes, not always. Bribe is good and almost always worth it. Mysty
i mst'd a facedown bribe on one guy and he chained it......................................................... That's nuttin'I mst'd a facedown magic jammer and a guy chained it That's nothing.A guy once used MST on my Magic Drain. I chained it just to be funny. He discarded a Spell card to negate my Magic Drain's effect. As for Dark Bribe, even though it's a -1, sometimes that -1 saves you from a much worse disadvantage. Considering its wide range of targets, it can save you from a lot or stop the opponent from saving themselves. It isn't as good as Solemn, but dark bribe is at 3.
