So, if my opponent has Rainbow Dragon and I special summon this, I can chain Inferno Reckless Summon to the activation of it's effect, and have 3 4000 ATK monsters, right? Suicide one into RD and attack directly with the others... Lol situational OTK. It would be better to use Lava/Grinder Golem to be sure your opponent will have a huge monster and will not summon other stuff with your IRS...

I would say it is 7 years bad luck to run this.

Moreover, it would be better to run dark panther than this, because effects often give better results that just plain attack/defense. Dark panther itself isn't even worth running nowadays, so this card is definitely only worth it in joke decks or otherwise.

Fraz ran Copycat in an anti-meta LIGHT Village deck I think. He said it was there to destroy Reapers by targeting them with it's effect.

I also ran this in my Solid Spellcasters deck. Exemplar can get it on the field from the Hand or Graveyard easily, with Solidairty the boost it needs to overpower your opponent's current field by battle.

 

Copycat does not constantly target the monster, so its ok if the monster's ATK/DEF you copied is removed from the field, as it will retain those ATK/DEF stats as long as it is face up. The other good thing about it is that it doesn't matter how it is Summoned, it will gain its effect to copy the ATK/DEF stats. Being 0/0 instead of ?/? helps out with any support you have with that too.

 

I don't consider this to be a bad card at all. It reminds me of that Cat's Ear Tribe topic a while back, and this is so much better, considering this can be used on the offensive easily.

I like Copycat. It's not the best card ever made, but it's fun when my friends spend so much trime to get a certain monster out on the field while I have this in my hand. I activate Waboku, and proceed to ram into their monster. It annoys them so much.
