I know Konami is evil...but if you think about it, they are absolutely Genius.

Releasing JD in gold, DAD as a super in the Draco tin, Plague in gold, Stardust and Mali as commons in Gold, and Honest in the twilight pack purposefully lowers the trade value of said cards, encouraging people to buy their products over buying single cards online or at card shops.

What other cards do you wish Konami would apply their greedy methods to, and when have you benefitted from this system.

Also what cards are you angry about having the value trashed by this method, and which cards made you angry when they became so available.

If they weren't good at making money and encouraging product buying, Yugioh would be dead by now, instead of prospering for how many years?

I dropped out of the "buying" aspect years ago, but I tend to like the idea of cards being reprinted as promos, much moreso now than I used to. I don't like how Yugioh is such a rich man's game.

Thats how I feel, I mean, deap down inside I know its just because Konami doesn't want to lose money to shmoes on e bay...but i'd like to think of them trying to be the robin hood of trading card games if I could get that thought out of my head.

but thats not happenings.

greedy bastards.

Wait a moment, reducing the second-market value of cards encourages people to buy from Konami directly? Re-releasing cards people want will obviously make money, but the logic being employed here seems... unusual, to say the least.

Well, a 60 dollar card made into a varient card in a 20 tin that includes 3 other varients and 5 boosters will undoubtebly cause most players to spring for the tin over buying the individual card from a private owner.

Whenever individual cards are bought, whether it be from E Bay or a local card store, Konami misses out on the profit. To help ensure that other people aren't making money off of their product, they encourage buyers to purchase from them over individuals.

Yes the second market value will be reduced, but as seen with the release of DAD in gold last year, Honest, Starlight, and the cards released in the Junk Destroyer deck (if you add up the values of the individual cards, the deck comes to over $25) the second market value isn't reduced substantially enough for players to prefer buying individually.

Wait' date=' what? You said that the point of the re-release was that it "lowers the trade value of said cards". How can that prefer to anything other than reducing second market value?

What I meant in my original statement was corrected in my previous statement, was it not?

Fun Fact: When Common D-Draw and Malicious came out, I STILL bought the single cards at a card shop. I don't know what the hell you're talking about.

I thought you said you already had the originals? Did you buy them just for trade...even though anyone with a sense of practicallity would just buy a gold pack?
