Dr. Cakey
maadd1 enjoys the word 'gimp' too much. I only use it when in reference to that program that is Photoshop except free. Mighty Platypus you obviously have no idea' date=' you may want to buy new pants or at least fix the holes in your knees just like legend hiro, why you suck up to a moderator i don't know. [/quote'] Um..., sucking up to a moderator? How about using common sense to determine that you're an idiot? Please improve your grammar before you continue to insult me. Agreeing with people who are right is a good thing, which the all-powerful MIGHTY PLATYPUS seems to recognize. Agreeing with people who are right AND are hilarious, succinct, and awesome isn't just a good thing, it's a rare opportunity. Also, your attempt at metaphor has stumbled. It's generally good practice to be on the same reading level as the person you're arguing with.
Mighty Platypus
Cakey makes a very good point, as it is rare to be able to agree with someone who qualifies for all 4 of those qualities. Yeah, that metaphor...really made no sense.

Guest
I pretty much gave up arguing with maadd1 after my last post. My skills are with logic and words, which means that I cannot possibly affect maadd1, who doesn't understand logic or words. If that's true' date=' then care to find me a 38 quotes where Crab says to not even try?[/quote'] Eh, in some instances, I have told someone that, if this is really the best they can do, they shouldn't bother posting it online. These are the extreme cases that look like they were co-authored by a kindergarten student and a cat dancing on a keyboard. And in the case maadd1 is referring to - reviewing - the minimum skill requirement is absolutely crucial, since while a bad fanfic will waste people's time, a bad review giving horrible advice can actually hurt people's writing. But even if I did say such a thing 38 39 times, that doesn't make my criticism any less constructive. If I write fifteen paragraphs detailing exactly what a story's problems are and what needs to be fixed, and then at the end add one line saying that the story sucks, does that one line negate the preceding fifteen paragraphs and retroactively make them not count as constructive criticism? maadd1 says it does. No' date=' the real problem is that your fighting due to new review topic, accept the new topic and return to the one you support instead of joining the fight. That's what's makes you spoiled, this is between Crab Helmet n' double if I've read correct.[/quote'] First of all, a review topic that actually damages people's writing by giving bad advice cannot simply be accepted and left alone. Second of all, others from the Foe Fiction topic only came here after double_c4 came to the Foe Fiction topic to whine. Third of all, I'm pretty sure making terrible alt accounts after you've been banned twice makes you the saddest case here.
K. Caleb
I cannot believe how un/intentionally funny this thread is. I literally joined this forum after a 'certain' member of it showed me the verbal onslaught going on here. Purely to get amused by this. I must say, I don't like to be rude and suddenly barge in, so I will try to contribute something more useful than insults or berating. It may sound a bit like stuff you have already heard, but I think I should give you a piece of my opinion anyway. To C4, this would be relax. Alot of unnecessary fighting comes from equally unnecessary conflict. Fact is, if you admit to have flaws, others will be more willing to admit theirs. Nobody is perfect here, I'm quite sure of that. You could have a normal chat with people who oppose you that way and hell, you can laugh over your own mistakes. The ability to take BAD, BAD critique is in fact, necessary for a good author. In fact, let's look at an example. Twilight, Twilight, Twilight. Who here dares to disagree that it's characters are flat one-dimensional cutouts, Bella in particular sprouting unhealthy, shallow obsession over the most perfect corpse ever sculped? I won't rip on it though, it's not the point of this post. I will just summarize it. Critics don't like it. Now we turn our eyes to Stephenie Meyer, the author of that... work. Despite having her book being adapted to the silver screen, massive sales and overall great success, she seems to outright refuse to improve her writing. Is that good? Well, read Breaking Dawn and try to notice improvement. You will be disappointed. Fact is, when Stephen King said she can't write worth a damn, you could say both. It WAS constructive criticism, yet it was an insult. The author had to choose, does he get offended or does he reflect upon his writings and see exactly WHY people make such claims. Really, there is no point in getting upset over that. I myself can't say this is the best post I've written so far and you probably can find a dozen of mistakes in it. In fact, I sort of suck at grammar. But beyond that, the worst is to say that it breaks dreams of people. I present you a hypothetical situation. Mr. A is a young review writer, dead set on his dream to be a successful critic. He goes on and makes a bad review. Readers point out the review's flaws. Now there are 2 ways. He either improves himself or he doesn't. If he improves himself, then he comes closer to his dream. Seriously, all he needs is to actually listen to what people tell him. If he doesn't, then there is no point to his dream. I wanted to be a programist making games. Sometime though I recognized that I suck at coding and gave that dream up. I didnt do so because people said it sucks, I did so because I realized that I sucked at it and didn't have the will to improve. There is no point to a dream of making games if games you make are horrible. All there is then is to find a better dream, one you can actually succeed at. In other words, I want to conclude this with the following: Either listen to people and their advice, no matter how harsh it is.Or cease the activity entirely. After all, can you expect the teachers in school not giving you an F for a bad test just because they don't want to crush your dream of a proper education? Kōsuke Ueki
-_- Do you people not realize that you're all just spamming in MY thread just to continue this argument? If you keep going on, it will never end because you all are whining about whether or not I can do reviews. You all are just making things worse and driving yourselves closer to end up neg-repping each other. It's pointless and needs to end now before I go ballistic for all of the idiotic, pointless lessons that I've heard already too much. If I want to do a review, just leave me be, because I can't stand that others think I stink. Maadd1, I respect you for standing up to me, but you need to stay out of this. And Nuub, you're right. You said the one thing that now brings the true incompetence of pointlessness that is Crab Helmet, and the stacker of arguments known as Twig. Because of you two, points were both made. And you two, along with Stand, kept making your points across even it's already been. If this keeps going on, I will have no choice but to violate the Jack Witt Clause and report all of you. I'm really sorry, but what I've said is what I said. No constructive criticism is going to make me change how I do my reviews, especially since I still can't understand some of Crab's College-Level vocabulary and terms in all of her reviews. Originally, I had no clue I was being ranted by a woman, so basically, I had no clue that a girl was somehow kicking my ass, hypothetically. I don't care what you people think anymore. I've moved on, but all of YOU; you all are trying to pick a side. How about don't? Because I've had it. Although Crab does explain constructive criticism for the most part, saying "You suck" or "Don't post this on the Internet" is a statement that is pointless and the author would've already known. Now if you want to keep arguing, be my guest, break the rule about spamming continuously, because one of these days, you people will be banned for breaking a rule so many times. I've moved on from criticism, so should you all. What exactly are you all trying to accomplish? We all know my reviews are bad, so there can't be anything else, excluding what Crab says at the end of every review, which I have solved. Move on, people. Just move on! It's over; done with. Because you people believe that eventually one will fall, but nobody will. So, in terms to let my anger out, I shall say one thing in particular. [spoiler=My words to everybody who is spamming.]ENOUGH!!!!!!!!
K. Caleb
"Do you people not realize that you're all just spamming in MY thread just to continue this argument? If I want to do a review, just leave me be, because I can't stand that others think I stink." We don't think that you stink :/. "You said the one thing that now brings the true incompetence of pointlessness that is Crab Helmet" Yet why do you keep insulting him? "I'm really sorry, but what I've said is what I said. No constructive criticism is going to make me change how I do my reviews, especially since I still can't understand some of Crab's College-Level vocabulary and terms in all of her reviews. Originally, I had no clue I was being ranted by a woman, so basically, I had no clue that a girl was somehow kicking my ass, hypothetically." What does Crab being female have to do with anything? (I for my part permamently view him as male) Also, I'm sad you don't want to improve. Sorta reminds me of my looming failure in school coming upon me solely because I'm too lazy to improve. I can only say, prepare for more undignified words coming toward you. This is internet, people will react worse and worse to you that way... "I don't care what you people think anymore. I've moved on, but all of YOU; you all are trying to pick a side. How about don't? Because I've had it. Although Crab does explain constructive criticism for the most part, saying "You suck" or "Don't post this on the Internet" is a statement that is pointless and the author would've already known. Now if you want to keep arguing, be my guest, break the rule about spamming continuously, because one of these days, you people will be banned for breaking a rule so many times." Now I'm irritated. Crab explained the whole "constructive criticism" thing in a multitude of posts, neither of which contained "You suck". In fact, in most of them he actively showed you why they were NOT "You suck". I really start to suspect you didn't read them. I hope I'm wrong. Also, I'd like to link you to a certain YouTube video, where 2 young boys adress viewers, saying that they will call police and get everybody who wrote bad comments on their videos arrested. Everybody was amused. The amount of outright insulting comments exploded... "I've moved on from criticism, so should you all. What exactly are you all trying to accomplish? We all know my reviews are bad, so there can't be anything else, excluding what Crab says at the end of every review, which I have solved. Move on, people. Just move on! It's over; done with. Guest
And now: the author's commentary edition of double_c4's latest post. -_- I firmly believe that every post must have a minimum of two instances of xx-large text. It's really impossible to type otherwise. Do you people not realize that you're all just spamming in MY thread just to continue this argument? If you keep going on' date=' it will never end because you all are whining about whether or not I can do reviews.[/quote'] Seriously, guys, the quality of this thread is totally irrelevant to, uh, this thread. You all are just making things worse and driving yourselves closer to end up neg-repping each other. Neg-reps are the absolute worst thing in the world' date=' since everyone cares about reps so much.[/color'] It's pointless and needs to end now before I go ballistic for all of the idiotic' date=' pointless lessons that I've heard already too much. If I want to do a review, just leave me be, because I can't stand that others think I stink.[/quote'] Come on, guys, it's completely unfair for anyone to discuss the quality of something that somebody posted in the Fan Fic forum. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must get back to my job of reviewing things that people posted in the Fan Fic forum. Maadd1' date=' I respect you for standing up to me,[/quote'] Indeed. I am glad that you and you alone had the wisdom to see that Crab Helmet's review of my topic, in which she made lots of points that you even conceded were valid and constructive, was completely unwarranted. Unlike my reviews, where I just swear at people who dare to include Mario characters in a Mario fanfic, which are just plain awesome. but you need to stay out of this. And Nuub' date=' you're right. You said the one thing that now brings the true incompetence of pointlessness that is Crab Helmet, and the stacker of arguments known as Twig. Because of you two, points were both made.[/quote'] As a reviewer, I believe that making valid critical points is a total waste of time. Also, it apparently implies that people are "spoiled", which I completely agree with because I don't actually know what "spoiled" means. And you two' date=' along with Stand, kept making your points across even it's already been. If this keeps going on, I will have no choice but to violate the Jack Witt Clause and report all of you.[/quote'] Beware, or else I will be forced to break the rules by reporting you to the moderation staff when you didn't break any rules and you're a member of the moderation staff. Hold on, maybe my cunning plan needs a little rethinking. I'm really sorry' date=' but what I've said is what I said. No constructive criticism is going to make me change how I do my reviews,[/quote'] Screw constructive criticism. Self-improvement and actual quality writing is for losers. especially since I still can't understand some of Crab's College-Level vocabulary and terms in all of her reviews. She uses such huge words like "spoiled" and "Parakoopa". I really don't understand any of it! Fortunately' date=' I don't think my crippling illiteracy will have any negative effect on my ability to criticize other people's writing.[/color'] Originally' date=' I had no clue I was being ranted by a woman, so basically, I had no clue that a girl was somehow kicking my ass, hypothetically.[/quote'] My views of women pretty much agree with those of Pichu. They need to make sandwiches, not reviews. I don't care what you people think anymore. I've moved on' date=' but all of YOU; you all are trying to pick a side. How about don't? Because I've had it.[/quote'] I don't believe in picking sides. I prefer to stay completely neutral on all topics. For example, do you stop or go at a red light? I'm not going to pick a side. It's really unfair to choose between right and wrong. Although Crab does explain constructive criticism for the most part' date=' saying "You suck" or "Don't post this on the Internet" is a statement that is pointless and the author would've already known.[/quote'] The author evidenced their knowledge that they sucked and shouldn't post their terrible writing on the internet by pretending they didn't suck and posting their terrible writing on the internet. It's so obvious that they already knew that; how on earth could Crab Helmet be so stupid as to not realize that? Now if you want to keep arguing' date=' be my guest, break the rule about spamming continuously, because one of these days, you people will be banned for breaking a rule so many times.[/quote'] Note to self: Find out what "spamming" actually means. I've moved on from criticism' date=' so should you all. What exactly are you all trying to accomplish? We all know my reviews are bad, so there can't be anything else, excluding what Crab says at the end of every review, which I have solved.[/quote'] Come on, guys. I completely understand that my reviews suck and that I give terrible advice that would make people write worse if they listened to me. But I've moved on from that problem, by which I mean I've deluded myself into thinking that that problem somehow doesn't matter. Move on' date=' people. Just move on! It's over; done with. Because you people believe that eventually one will fall, but nobody will. So, in terms to let my anger out, I shall say one thing in particular. legendhiro
maadd, if you have truly stopped, why are you still here. if you'd really "stopped" you would have only come back if c4 had updated. you are being hypocritical just by being here and saying that. c4, i really am done, and i hope others will agree with me, because kaisu is right: this thread is becoming nothing but spam. its not even really an intelligent debate. just maadd contradicting himself on a semi-regular basis, and crab showing up occasionally to prove every halfway reasonable thing maadd says wrong. c4, i want you to keep going. maybe you will get over yourself and learn that its only worth doing something if you take criticism and improve. now please, put an end to this before this actually does come down to a neg rep fest. just turn around and walk away (figuratively speaking of course).
