3 just kind of pales in comparison to the other games in the series. And even then it made Game Of The Year in 2008. not that im saying reviews are that reliable but i AM saying for the least liked among diehard fallout fans. Fallout 3 still kicked gratuitous amounts of ass.

My beef with it was that. Since i played 2 first. 3 just didn't really compare. Graphics were better sure but that's to be expected. And i like the FPS element they put in but as an RPG they gave you ALOT less freedom. And character customization really was yknow...eh. I mean you could have a character in 3 with an intelligence score of 1 and still talk like a PhD whereas in 2 your intelligence score gave real effects onto the dialog of your character. More than that the re-use of Voice actors and character models sort of grated on my nerves. But i forgave that because well. They were testing a new horizon as far as graphics went for the genre.

But the worst of it for me was the ending that was SO BAD that they needed DLC to fix it.

"Hey if i let the big, immune to radiation Super Mutant go into the irradiated control chamber then nobody has to die!"

"yeah....umm....but you're still a coward herp-a-derp"

Fallout 3 was an ok game. But when you put it in the lineup with it's brethren in the series...well...it just doesn't look that good by comparison

New Vegas was amazing though. I'd put it as better than 2. NV was...god New Vegas was everything 3 could have been. I don't usually geek over alot of games but i will geek over New Vegas till i stop gaming.

Fallout 3 was huge enough that reworking dialouge for each intelegince score would really f*** it over.

It was pretty much steam punk oblivion, which gives you a bunch of wiggle room but I suppose not as much as fallout 2, whatever it was. Never had the chance to play the old ones.

Fallout 3's big sucess came from people like John Henry Eden.

Caeser is a good antagonist but he is a pretty common antagonist but done well.

John was like America, but completely evil.

But yeah new vegas is like my favorite game.

I'm talking about 3 and New Vegas. 3 was too slow in that it moved at a pace that I couldn't live with without something interesting happening, and Vegas was glitchy and unfinished. Plus, the ridiculousness of how the stat system worked was laughable. And to tie all these crappy elements together is the battle system.

Seriously, first time I saw V.A.T.S (or w/e the **** it's called), I almost threw up.

As for the other fallout games, I say the entire franchise can rot. I'm not impressed :/

Oh yeah, and "Gaylo?" Only thing I can think of from that is Halo. And if you are even TRYING to compare that miserable piece of crap to a franchise as successful and wonderful as Halo, which not only has GREAT single player campaigns (something that Vegas doesn't have), but has some of the best MULTIPLAYER in gaming history (Something the geniuses at Bethesda forgot to put in), then obviously there's something wrong with your brain.

And yes, I am very silly :3

I agree. The popularity of Oblivion and Bethedsa in general did help Fallout 3 along. And you make a valid point about the dialog but...it still irks me. Kinda like how Brawl. Despite being a good game has things that irk me. But whatever

And again i agree that Fallout 3 had some pretty amazing characters

"Hello beautiful America...it's me John Henry Eden"

"THREEEEEEEEE DAAAAAAAAAAAWG!!!"

and my personal favorite

"ELIMINATE ALL CHINESE COMMUNISTS!!!"

Fallout 2 just had alot more content. If you ever come across a copy of Fallout:Trilogy for the PC i highly recommend getting it. Thing is rare though in stores...

I like New Vegas for all the different types of ways you could make the game turn out ya know what i mean? Kinda keeps you wanting to play to see if you missed anything

Yeah and new vegas has Raul.

And House comes close to Eden in badassness.

But Eden has a radio.

LMAO MAN you make my gut hurt XD

You didn't "Get" the stat system because you are obviously retarded and don't get the concept of building your character different ways.

Vegas fixed its glitches about a month after it's initial release.

You can play without VATS it is intended to make the battle system work at more of a slow, Turn based system. If you want it fast paced keep your finger off of the button and focus your perks on Non-VATS buffs. Again. you are too dense to grasp the idea of multiple ways to fight.

Your opinion on the other games (which you haven't played OBVIOUSLY) you're probably one of those retards who can't grasp the idea that some games in a franchise are better than others.

Gaylo was a half-assed, unrealistic, poorly written crapsack of an FPS geared towards little kids. Featuring generic and frankly cliche' characters (Master Cheif) And are you SERIOUSLY imagining that Gaylo's one-track BS campaign is even in the same UNIVERSE as the deep, meaningful, emotionally charged and diverse story that is Fallout New Vegas.

Dude. Quit playin.

Oh yes, because I validate my opinion on whether or not something is successful based on what critics say about it. It's not like all the critics who get payed pretty much just praise any game made by popular game developers or anything.

Also, by successful, I don't mean the # of arbitrary awards it's won. I mean the playability and how entertaining it actually is, seeing as that's the whole point of video games. To entertain. And to me, Fallout is less entertaining then watching paint dry.

Which is why you have the boner for Gaylo...riiiiight

Because you are one of those people who are entertained by shiny things.

See the shiny game boy?

Go get the shiny game!!

Who's a good boy?

You are!

Yes you are :3

frsrs?

If you're going to argue, at least make an argument like Ice or Nex. Don't just go "Gay", "retard". You're bi, and retard offends some people, hm?

I made my argument clear. Yknow. For those that READ it.

I just added obligatory insults and jabs. Just to show that i am not above them :3

and WHEN did i say i ever cared about being Politically Correct?!? :/

You made your post look like something I expect a 3rd grader to write.

IF it's that content filled, remove the unneeded crap, or at least keep it to a minimum.

FTR, someone you know is /very/ sensitive about Retard/Retarded. Not me, in fact, he got on me about it.

TECHNICALLY success is driven by popularity and this game not only has more medals then patton but sold over a million copies it's pretty fuckin successfully.

And if we only go by your opinion then your just like a game critic.

Which according to you, invalidates your opinion.

Rule of the internet. All of my carefully picked arguments can be ignored. I have learned this time and time again when I've made my points on various things. Insults however grab people's attention.

And if i happen to offend that "someone i know" If that person is of sufficient importance to me then i will apologize when they bring it up. That's just the kinda guy i am.

Nex is getting his point across without insulting. Do that. Spamming Gay and Retarded makes you look 5.

Nex and i have divergent opinions on argument. Nex has a high road on me. Admittedly. His is far more dignified, refined, and polite in his argument.

I also get my point across. However i admit that i am a vulgar, crude, and impolite lowlife. And proud of it. So i sprinkle personal jabs into the arguments i present almost as a reflex. And as i have seen. It gets people riled. And THAT leads to ragequits. which leads to my victory :3

But if it matters that much to you then fine. I'll cut the personal jabs while im ITT

Sir I find your comment amusing on a level that has managed to become painful.

The stat system was a very simply model akin to one you would find playing any rpg. Your incapablity of figuring out a basic part of customization amuses me and unfortunatly makes me doubt if all your mental faculities are completely functional.

I will also like to further my belief because Vegas fixed it's glitches a month after it's initial release you failed to do the proper research on your case.

Plus if you allow me the chance I will remind you that VATS while slow, is never forced on the player, it's intended to make the game slower and more turn based like as it makes a smooth transition from the fans of the old rpg games. It is never forced on the player and thus the battle can get quite hectic, as anyone who storms a raider base guns blazing can testify. I will go onto suggest you don't grasp the concept of branching options.

I fear your opinion on this game is unfounded as I doubt you actually played the game in question and also you seem to not understand that all games have ups and downs, i will even go so far as remind you about halo wars, a game which was not the most popular of games because of it's strategy based format.

Now then this Halo game which due to my utter lack of respect for the franchise I will now refer to as OOOOOOH SHINY WEAPONS was a game that had a very disappointing single player with a bare minimum of a plot and was geared towards the younger foul mouther audiance that plague the multiplayer. I will prove this by bringing up the superiority of red vs blue's cast and plot and suggest that a game's has a rather dire failing if the fan made plot is superior to the one that has canon. While i respect your opinion of multiplayer's superiority I do not belive that counts if you are comparing to a game without multiplayer like Fallout and I go on to suggest that OSW's plot and setting was so less detalied as the one that inhabits the fallout games or even several of the expansion packs that I honestly feel pity for your life that is so empty of good video game stories.

I shall now suggest you quit playing OSW and get a game of superior quality like Bioshock, final fantasy, or fallout, it's for the mutual benefit of both parties you understand.

I edited to fit black's requests because I am in a silly mood.

First, that word...

Let's just get rid of that word, because it can be abused to the point where one of two things happens: 1) Arguments get so changed around they mutate into arguments about something else entirely, OR 2) I get bored and switch topics

However, I'd like to try and end this.

Now then, I think you missed my point, though I admit that my argument might not match up to what I'm thinking in my head currently, which leads to mistakes. I'm trying to say that I let my own opinion decide things for me rather than a suggestion from someone I don't even know, especially when that decision costs money.

Nex and i have divergent opinions on argument. Nex has a high road on me. Admittedly. His is far more dignified, refined, and polite in his argument.

No. You don't get your point across. All you did was shout the word Retard at me while telling me my opinion is wrong (which is impossible, as it is an opinion) and trying to force-feed me your own. And that is not how you get arguments across. And ragequit =/= win. It simply means you have the ability to annoy someone to the point where they realize that you are not worth wasting time on, and leave to do something with a chance to be productive.

Also, getting people riled shouldn't be your goal. An argument is supposed to be a discussion in which both parties involved can reach their own conclusions. The ones I see here are that I think Fallout sucks, plain and simple. Nex thinks Fallout 3 and NV are great.

You however, think I am retarded and make outrageous claims against me because I disagree with you. Not only that, but you bash Halo to the point where people just stop caring and find you rather irritating, whether they like halo or not.

It's fine to have opinions. What's not fine is being an a****** about it, and especially not a 3rd grader a******.

Edit: And BTW, might wanna ease up on the whole "retard" thing. I agree with Black. You shouldn't be so liberal with using that term.

Ah, see this is why others look down apon you! ^^

It's because you're overly crude to the point in which nobody understands if you have any depth whatsoever!

So far you have merely shown yourself to be a idiot to the highest degree and accepting it

And now you have shown that you do this to intentionally enrage the other party, efficiently raping the entire purpose of a debate?

I do hope that you realize that any possible respect or care for your well being I've had has pretty much gone down the drain now, regardless of your original opinions.

So hopefully you'll understand that those insults may make you cool and unique on X-Box Live but the fact is, they don't win you any friends.

In fact I'd say they do the exact opposite! ^^

So yeah, you made yourself look a bit unlikable don't you think?

Someone didn't read my post outside the insults now did they? And who began insulting whose game first? If i remember right you said it was "half-assed" along with a number of other insults?

I was making points defending the Fallout Series which, if you had read my posts. you would have seen. Hell Nex even did everyone in this thread the service of "Correcting" my post AND adding in what i was implying (good reading between the lines BTW Nex) But, like you, i grow bored with this. It's increasingly clear you will not see either my abrasive version of the point or Nex's calmer, more gentle point. So, in conclusion...
