Jake the Sage Posted August 28, 2011 Report Share Posted August 28, 2011 Pretty much Fusion. 8 / Generally it is the Gulf of Mexico states, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and possibly Texas who get hit with Hurricanes the most.Out of them Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana are the most frequently hit.Besides those stated . . . well . . . States only North and South Carolina then Georgia really have to worry about Hurricanes- seeing as any ones that miss Florida are going to end up there. New York, which hasn't been hit by a Hurricane in possibly forever is really freaking out about it, because they are not accustomed to it; so even a Cat. 2 is causing them to worry. Florida is hit by so many we don't start worrying until Cat. 5Cat. 4 and below we're just like, "Hey you want to board up the windows when Irene comes in?""Nah it'll hold. Beer?" New York has literally emptied New York City. This is the FIRST time in HISTORY that Grand Central Station has been COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. No flights, boat, trains, etc is leaving that city along with a single person.In my honest and humble Floridian opinion Irene is most likely going to loose all of it's strength if it heads up inland to get to New York and end up dying before it ever reaches there. Along the coast, sea or in the d*mn ocean is another story- in which it'll either remain a Cat. 2 or slow down enough into a Cat. 1 or Tropical Storm.
