Tourney Report Time (aka Byak goes to Dream Wizards and wins games)

So I got a third Test Tiger and a second Samnite (which I really needed) in time for Round 1. Didn't really matter whether I got it now or after the round imo.

 

Round 1: Byak v.s. Scrub Warriors

 

Game 1: He locks with Marauding and throws out Command Knight. I honestly don't draw into any outs, and lose. That was terrible.

Drew into stuff that didn't help like Bottomless, Starlight, Dust Tornado. Hey, it happens. :P

 

Game 2: I get around Marauding

 

Game 3: See Game 2

 

Moving on yesssss

 

Round 2: Byak v.s. Scrub Dragons

 

There were a lot of scrubs here today. There were scrubs that came as a group, which explains it. Oh well.

 

Game 1: I can't really remember what happened. He brain'd my Rai-Oh, which I proceeded to book later (btw I got around his summoned monster, which I forget). I derp derp Gyzarus and win games.

 

Game 2: I had answers to everything, which wasn't that hard. Opened with Cat, which was nice. Solemned his KAIBAMAN and pushed for game.

 

At this point I got my pack of TSHD for entering. Pulled Launcher.

 

Round 3: Byak v.s. Infernities

 

Yay Infernities. Me and my friend sitting next to me already knew I was gonna win.

 

Game 1: I throw Rai-Oh out. He sets up his grave. I bait his Barrier with Cold Wave, and Retiari his only Necromancer. He goes Iron Chain, but I negate with Rai-Oh. It goes downhill for him from there.

 

Game 2: I open with Cat, 2 Consecrated, Crevice, Solemn, and Dust. He scoops.

Round 4: Byak v.s. Blackwings

 

They cut off at this point. All 4-0s go to Top 4 and only one 3-1 gets in. Same friend I was talking to before btw.

 

Game 1: I throw out Coldwave. He's stuck with two set Icarus and Heavy in hand. I basically have advantage this whole game.

 

Game 2: Lasts a while, but I lose. He Dustshoot's me, which gives him the advantage.

 

Game 3: I summon Consecrated, he has Skill Drain. He Dust Tornado's all of my answers and kills me. He eventually drew Oppression anyway.

 

3-1

 

Top 4 stays and me and some other people head to Wendy's. Top 4 joins us later.

 

I'll post decklist later.

 

tl;dr: 3-1, could've used less scrubs.

 

btw, I 2-0'd and 2-1'd my friend playing BW at Wendy's. I had Wattgiraffe teched. ;)

So your locals didn't bother to deck check or collect deck lists or enforce any kind of rules that would prevent an opponent from changing their deck around during a tournament?
