My Vanilla to Rival A BLUE EYES!!!!

This is my idea for a warrior to rival the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Tell me what you think:

-About the card

-About wether he should prevail

-About anything related

This warrior deals in the sliced remains and shattered bones of fallen dragons. However his twinkling collection of scales, claws and teeth only pale in comparrison to the gleaming eyes of the almighty beast. He hopes that one day he may encounter the mythic Blue-Eyes White Dragon and prove his worth as the most powerful dragon slayer in the land.

i Believe Yu-Gi-Oh! already has a card that is the dragon slayer. You may have herd of him' date=' hes kinda a Big Deal: "Buster Blader"

[/quote']

But he's not a vanilla though is he :) mine is more to do with card mythology than actual cardplaying. Thanks for the advice though

No "A King By Rights". Buster Blader, though, is an effect monster. This card doesn't have the same ATK and DEF and no one would think of Buster Blader when they saw this card.

I think I know what your saying though. It's just the flavour text that involves killing dragons but it's still just a great card this guy has thought of.

Hats' off to you sir. 9/10

Thank you very much!

this is getting boring' date=' its just a vanilla, 6/10

[/quote']

It says vanilla in the description so if you find vanillas boring why did you look.

the description is still nice, but it just seems to be missing that makes this less exciting than the other vanillas made.

As a vanilla expert I am intruiged as to what just is missing, the description is of a good quality (even if i say so myself) and everything else seems to be in order so i'm not sure what you're getting at, perhaps you could enlighten me??

i made a card that rivals blue eyes in our contest. Originality :/ but i guess its ok

vanilla/10

Are you questioning my originality Smesh?? Let me get a couple of things straight.

-Yours is a dragon, mine is a warrior

-My story is completely different to yours

-The ATK and DEF are completely different

You cant just coin the idea of a "rival to the blue eyes white dragon" because you came up with a card first. There are in fact many different ways of doing one thing. My card is MYYY take on a blue eyes rival your dragon is YOOOUUUR take on a blue eyes rival.

If however I stole your image/name/lore/atk then that would make things different, Alas these are all originally mine.

You cant coin an idea smesh and question someone elses originality when the attempt to do a siimilar thing. I put a lot of work into this there was no coppying on mal-intent involved so the fact you questioned me originality i found quite disrespectful. I hope that cleared things up.

maybe its the creativity/originality. smesh's dragon card is a failure (note its not the card itself), and sj1's vanilla with the very creative pic.

yes, the description is of good quality, but the content of the description isn't really that exciting or fun.

Oh well then sorry, I didn't realise.

Has anyone noticed the little hint about who would win in a battle between the two?? Just look at my cards ATK compared to a BE's

omg i dont believ it teh blu ez wite dragn is storngr then ur monster

Okay, let's discuss some stuff. First, Buster Blader is actually the rival of Tyrant Dragon. Second, Blue-Eyes really does have a rival - two, actually. Dark Magician, and Red-Eyes Black Dragon.

Incidentally, the card Penumbral Soldier Lady was created specifically to counter BEWD.

Either way, though, a Vanilla needs to have a purpose. You can't tell a story through a single card.

Well I disagree you can't just decide that, the fact that this has 2900 ATK signifyies that he is a tragic hero, like Turnus from virgils aeneid or hotspur from henry the 5th, but I wouldnt expect YOU to understand that. If you come in with an agressive sarcy comment then expect one back, OK pumpkin :)

You have basic errors...

"This warrior deals in the sliced remains and shattered bones of fallen dragons; however, his twinkling collection of scales, claws, and teeth only pale in comparison to the gleaming eyes of his prime target, an almighty beast of legend. He hopes that one day he may encounter the mythical Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and thereby prove his worth as the most powerful dragon slayer in the land."

The pic is certainly fitting of a dragon slayer, I'll give you that. You also followed half of the all-important Vanilla laws (DEF should be lower than 2500).

Just brush up on your grammar and you'll be fine.

9/10

As for what Galadrien said about my Vanilla, I'll bump one of my Vanilla threads to show you what he was talking about.

My poor poor poor man ignorant of grammar, you have not changed the grammar at all, all you have done is put your own style to my work. You have to learn the difference between poor grammar and differing styles, don't worry you will :)

Thinking about it you are probably confused about "the legendary beast bit". That was a conscious action beacuase I wanted to treat the legendary beast as something everyone already knows, its a stylistic effect that emphasises the beast's power, in terms of grammar and grammatical style I am very adept so don't worry about it.

Funny thing is' date=' you also mispelled "comparison", I don't bold my fixes.

I tend to add more things on my Vanilla fixes. 100s in English force me to do such...

[/quote']

grammar is grammar and spelling is spelling, I may have overlooked that one, however what you did in your "correction" (which was your take on my work) was that you put a comma after an and this is something you never do.

As I said "the almighty beast bit" is a stylistic effect to enhance its legendary status, so there was no need to change it.

Show me where I put this one "misplaced comma"

On another note, my Vanilla I just bumped mentions Blue-eyes in a loose context xD

"the mythical Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and thereby"

The comma is there.

But thats another thing to prove me point the "thereby" is unneeded, what I put in the fiest place isn't a gramatical error it's just your stylistic choice. In my oppinion the the "thereby" makes it feel a little more mechanic an takes away from the story telling element of what I put orignially. But that's exactly what I meant by individual styles before.
