Hoping this one actually gets some responses -_-

Deathwing - Akali the Eclipse

DARK / Winged Beast

Level 6

2400/1000

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by destroying 1 "Blackwing" monster you control. When this card is Special Summoned, you can take control of 1 face-down monster your opponent controls. Its Battle Position cannot be changed until your next Standby Phase, except by a card effect. During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower then the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent.

=======

Deathwing - Nevar the Ebon Sky

DARK / Winged Beast / Tuner

Level 3

1600/300

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by destroying 1 "Blackwing" Tuner monster you control. You can substitute this card for any 1 "Blackwing" Tuner for a Synchro Summon. If this card is sent to the Graveyard for a Synchro Summon, select 1 monster your opponent controls and flip it to face-down Defense Position. Its Battle Position cannot be changed until its controller's next Standby Phase.

=======

Deathwing - Angha the Slash Wind

DARK / Winged Beast

Level 9

3400/1600

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by destroying 1 "Blackwing" Synchro monster you control. During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower then the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent. Once per turn, you can discard 1 "Blackwing" monster from your hand to remove from play 2 face-down cards on the field.

=======

Deathwing - Tengu the Iron Watcher

DARK / Winged Beast

Level 5

1800/2600

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by destroying 1 "Blackwing" monster you control. "Blackwing" monsters you control cannot be selected as attack targets or be targeted by card effects your opponent controls. When this card is removed from the field, you can select up to 2 face-up cards on the field and flip them face-down. Monsters flipped face-down by this card's effect are switched to Defense Position and their Battle Positions cannot be changed until their controller's next Standby Phase, except by a card effect. Spell or Trap cards flipped face-down by this card's effect cannot be activated until their controller's next Standby Phase.

=======

Deathwing - Chakora the Moonray

DARK / Winged Beast / Synchro

Level 7

2700/2300

1 "Deathwing" Tuner monster + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

When this card is Special Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 "Blackwing" monster from your Graveyard in Defense Position. Once per turn, you can flip 1 monster your opponent controls to face-down Defense Position. If this card is removed from the field, you can Special Summon 1 of your opponent's Level 5 or lower removed from play monsters.

=======

Death Rays

TRAP / Continuous

If you control a "Deathwing" monster, monsters that are destroyed by battle while face-down on the field cannot activate their effects, and are removed from play if they would be sent to the Graveyard. When a monster is removed from play by this card's effect, place 1 "Deathwing Counter" on this card. By removing a number of "Deathwing Counters" from this card, you can Special Summon 1 "Blackwing" monster from your Graveyard whose Level is equal to the number of Counters removed.

=======

Blackwing - Myst the Nightingale

DARK / Winged Beast / Tuner

Level 1

100/300

When a "Blackwing" monster you control is destroyed, Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. If this card is Special Summoned by its own effect, remove it from play when it is removed from the field.

=======

Deathwing - Vritr the Howling Winter

DARK / Winged Beast

Level 5

2100/1400

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by destroying 1 "Blackwing" Synchro monster you control. When this card is Special Summoned, flip 1 card on the field face-down. If the card flipped face-down by this card's effect is a Trap card, it cannot be activated until the next Standby Phase. Each time a "Blackwing" monster you control is destroyed, place 1 "Deathwing Counter" on this card (max. 2). By removing 2 "Deathwing Counters" from this card, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Blackwing" monster from your Graveyard.

=======

Blackwing - Kanna the Circle of Ceremony

DARK / Winged Beast

Level 2

1000/600

During either player's turn, you can discard this card from your hand to flip 1 card on the field face-down. If the card flipped face-down by this card's effect is a Trap card, it cannot be activated until the next Standby Phase. If this card is Special Summoned from the Graveyard, you can pick up the top 3 cards of your Deck. Select 1 "Blackwing" or "Deathwing" monster from those cards and add it to your hand, then send the rest to the Graveyard. If you cannot, return all cards to the bottom of your Deck, then destroy this card.

=======

This archetype is based upon flipping cards face-down and removing them from play. Deathwing monsters are summoned by destroying Blackwing monsters, making Vayu a great choice. Since Blackwings are falling behind I'm hoping at least a few of those cards will tune them up a little bit.

I see.. not Blackwings themselves but revolving around them.. This card seems about right. Splashable. Piercing + control of Set monster. I would make a more detailed review but I don't really find anything to point out. Its an instant 2400 ATK piercer that happens to be a +0 sometimes. I like it. NEXT...

hmmm.. the controller's next Standby Phase is going to come right away as their turn starts. I don't think they'll get affected at all. The "this is a Blackwing Tuner too" part is nice for the Blackwing Synchros but its not that impresive either. Not for a nomi with less ATK and more specific Summoning Conditions than the previews card. A -1 Nomi Tuner with Book of Moon effect. I can see some improve to it.

I was about to tihnk about the same effect with Bora and Kalut, until I read the last effect. I think its nicely done, tilted towards overpoweredness maybe? I can't really tell... I'll just say its good and leave it at that. ;D

Nicely done. Protection and multy flip face-down effect. I need to say nothing else.

I'll stop there for now. I haven't been able to make my comment all in one piece. Instead, I've been bothered by people for a while so, I'll get back later...

These cards have no draw backs, you can bring them out easily and they all have good effects, you shouldn't be able to normal summon the turn you bring 1 of these out.

Special Summoning a bunch of monsters and getting extra ATK from Sirocco and Kalut or lowering opponent's ATKs with Gale are pretty common sights in Blackwings. I'd say its no different. Except that these are Nomis that don't get any of the Blackwing Support for them. Also, there look like they concentrate on control rather than fast kills.

I think they do have drawbacks in there...

I don't think they have any notable OCG errors, but alright.

Thanks. It's more or less the main card of this sub-set, meant to be usable in Blackwings even if they don't run Deathwings overall. It gives them a fast beatstick with interesting possibilities to exploit.

Yeah, the restriction is probably redundant since you'll generally Synchro during your turn, or even if you use Urgent Tuning during your opponent's turn you'll generally flip their attacking monster, in which case they won't be able to switch it back anyway. Its meant to be used with the main Blackwing those Deathwings would like to ditch, namely Vayu (or my original Myst). The Deathwing-specific Synchros are meant to be quite strong, too. What else would you add to it?

I think the fact that you have to remove 2 cards (rather than up to 2) prevents it from being too overpowered, since at times you'll be forced to ditch your own card. And the discard is specific, too, not to mention that it needs to ditch a Synchro (though Blackwings crap those out like crazy). Well, we'll see.

Thanks, your comments and feedback are extremely appreciated.

I'm sensing a loop somewhere... But yeah.

Can't say I'm seeing it.

They have strong effects... but not too strong, I'd think. Keep in mind that those are not "Blackwing" monsters, so they don't work with any of their support (well, most of it). They're basically meant to be like that, strong and useful, but independent - so you can use them to get an edge but they cannot be integrated into a common Blackwing strategy.

BTW, you have terrible pics. Just saying.

I'd put a Tribute Fodder restriction rather than SSing them.

Even if I had pics for them (I've looked, out of interest, but didn't find much), how are they relevant here?

I think those would be underpowered if they were Tribute monsters, let alone have them have specific Tribute requirements. Plus Blackwings are hardly good at providing Tribute fodder. I'd rather tone them down a bit, if that is needed, rather than restrict their summoning further.

yeah that's what I really meant. I didn't do OCG because I didn't see any errors. Sorry if it got misinterpreted xD

About my comment on your Deathwing - Angha the Slash Wind. I guess (giving it a second thought) its effect wouldn't qualify as overpowered concidering how most face-down cards of the Spell and Trap Card Zones are usually chainable, and how its rare for monsters to be face-down (this kills fat hamster, defensive Decks and Flip Trolls very nicely. Also, it pwns with Book of Moon, but other than those... )

I like their safety lock againts unbalance. They neither get the support of the archtype they support nor get to work together that often for the concistency issues. =D
