The Japanese don't hate pizzas, they just present pizzas in a more different view from what the American culture is used to seeing, but 4Kids does hate rice balls. They feel as though they need to americanize every single thing so that "the children can relate to what they are seeing". 4Kids is bull. If all the dubbing rights 4Kids have are given to FUNdimation, we would be seeing more Japanese culture in anime.

I like the fact that 4kids makes it to where i dont have to worry about seeing anything gay in the show. Killing is unnecesary. Sex is not for TV haha. Cussing is just stupid. I really dont see a problem with it (accept like all the voices in most of their shows is the guy who did yami yugi, knuckles, amidamaru and soooooo many others, think his name is dan green or something?).

So your just going to remove the fact that character X died when it's a major part of the plot. Most of the time it's not killing, it's just death, and their is nothing wrong with that. And really if you don't want killing, or violence like I think your talking about, then don't watch any action show since it's the violence and blood that get the most edits.

 

What sex? As revealing as some of the clothes some anime characters wear are, I've seen stuff the same, if not worse, on billboards and posters. Even then most characters clothes aren't bad.

 

Their is no cussing. And really, it's not hard to replace something like damn it it darn it. Really, their are ways to make it acceptable for American audiences, and IMO the the limits are to are much to much any way. Instead we get retarded puns and stupid changes that weren't needed in the first place.

 

I'm not going to say I didn't enjoy 4Kids when I was a kid, but looking back at it, it's stupid and everything they do just makes me rage laugh.

If you left all the bad stuff in it it would have to be for adults, and most adults in the world think that anime is just cartoons for kids, and when theres killing they just think its messed up cartoons for kids. Cussing is unnecesary at any point ever. You can disagree but why do you like words that are supposed to be bad in the first place? And yes theres kiddie stuff, but its because its for kids...... 4kids. Get it?

They remove all instances of death or just call it something stupid. And most animes don't have killing.

 

But they shouldn't be doing animes like that >_> If it's common for you to be seeing people getting stabbed through in any given anime, you shouldn't try to dumb it down for kids. All it does is make the fans of the anime mad, and your wrong. If they left the "bad stuff" in kids will still watch it, I watched adult swim programs when I was like 11/12 and adults won't, but TEENAGERS, the people these animes are made for in the first place, would. O, fun fact, Avatar has had people die and it only TV: Y7. Also back when I was a kids, violence and blood were not as censured, and every one has come out fine. Back when our parents were kids it was even less.

 

What cussing are you talk about? Most animes don't say ***k or ***t, let alone have it in every other sentence. Hell, should words like that show up they can easily be subbed with damn/darn and those are not cusses, especially darn. If they need to replace words, they can easily convoy the same feelings they had in original Japanese.

 

But 4Kids shouldn't be doing it in the first. Something like One Piece as it is, isn't that bad for kids, but they go and make loads of edits, going as far as to remove whole plot arcs. Really, little kids don't understand the significance of breast so why do you need to remove the breast line. All women have them. Why do they feel the need to remove blood, when everyone bleeds. I honestly don't get what about them is bad go kids. Really, the violence itself should be the problem but they're fine with showing people beat other up.

 

Also FUNimation does most animes now a days, most of the ones they don't is done by viz.

See that little Pizza Hut logo in the corner? Yea, Pizza Hut actually has pizzas that look like that. And they are yummy.

 

Also, my theory is that 4Kids removes or Americanize everything that is not American to brainwash little kids that America is the only country in the world that matters. Thus the little kids will grow up, become military and go f*ck with other countries without feeling bad for it, since America is the only place that matters in this world.

4Kids made a mockery of One Piece, one of the most beloved franchises to me

I naively watched it when I was little, but my friend knew better

Me: Hey, are you watching One Piece tonight?

Friend: No, I've stopped watching it.

Me: But why? It's an awesome anime like the manga.

Friend: No. That thing isn't anime...it's...a cartoon.

Me: 0.0 You...don't mean that.

Friend: You'll realize one day.

@poopybuttoxes: screw that! I like to cuss! And it would sound phenominally stupid if an anime character said "oh fudge and gee whiz I'm bleeding from a horrible neck wound" rather than "Holy s***, F***I'm injured!"

Because it's not needed. Yea, they can replace it with something stupid like in your example, but they can just say "damn it." Hell, if it's delivered correctly, a simple "this isn't good" line can deliver the message that the character knows he's in trouble.

 

Or better yet

"HOLY s***! MY f***ing NECKS BLEEDING! OH MY f***ing GOD! I'M GOING TO f***ing DIE GOD DAMNIT! SOMEOEN GET ME A BANDAID!"

This really, just sounds stupid.
