I think it can activate any effect, provided, it isnt continuous.

Pretty much we were posting uses for this, in which would make this card ridiculous.

 

Though knowing Konami, the nerf'D version would be more like this:

-Normal Trap-

Pay 1000 Lifepoints and Remove from play 1 Effect monster in your hand to activate this card. The effect of this card becomes the same as the discarded monster's effect

Because this way' date=' they would issue some BKSS saying you must [i']ALSO[/i] have to add said discarded monster's effect, in addition to the 1k Lifepoint cost. Add to it, they would say it doesnt work with continuous effects.

Would need to be nerfed into oblivion or have fifty million because konami said so tags to its rulings just to null all possibly abuses of this.

Usually a bigger range of targets in the mid to late game.

Not a -1 for the discard.

Can kill monsters by battle.

Can be used as synchro material, tribute fodder, or targets for the wide range of DARK support.

On the off-chance that it survives a turn, you can choose a more suitable effect next turn, rather than being locked into your choice.

It can copy continuous effects.

Not going to get MST'd/Dust'd on your End Phase before you even use it, and since it's 0 original ATK, likely to dodge bottomless meaning you have a greater chance of actually using an effect.

 

So yeah, advantages.

If you want DAD or JD for field nuking, you do it and nuke the field. Then, opponent sets 3 or more cards. Oops, you already RFG-ed JD or DAD. Not getting it back now.

Weeeell to my mind, I personally dislike anime card discussions and would rather have them all not here, however I'm violently aware that those who explore the TCG section and those who check the Anime section aren't the same audience.

 

I know it's lolYCM and you'd never get an intelligent conversation anyway, but I figure the likelihood of getting a halfway decent conversation about the meta with a hypothetical card would be greater in the TCG section then the anime section.

 

Furthermore, I just naturally assumed that, since I wasn't getting any reports about anime-only cards, I was the only one really bothered by it and didn't want to just make half the opening page a ghost town just because me, and only me, was sick of seeing them.

 

I also assume that, if there's a decent chance the card would be coming out soon, I could turn the other cheek. Like say New Yu-Gi-Oh Pack promises to deliver "Many of the cards run by Villian McSnidleyWhiplash" and your discussion was about Not-So-Broken-Card that he ran in that one episode, I wouldn't be all that troubled over it. Though if it's some blatantly overpowered animanga card like Power Balance, Life Shaver, or some third card, I'd probably close the topic.

 

This isn't at all set in stone, nor should this post be taken as gospel, and any ideas presented here are subject to change without reason at any given point in time.
