Favorite Movies

Alright alot of people watch movies so to get some sort of discussion I will post some of my all time favorite movies in no particualr order and why I like them.

Highlander (1986)

Without a doubt, the best of the Highlander movies When I first saw this movie I thought "Wow..Great story" The story line is unique, immortal men compelled to search for the elusive and unknown prize, battle with each other through the centuries. One villan in the movie 'The Kurgan' is my all time favorite villans.

The Exorcist (1973)

This Movie, Scared the hell out of me when I was 7 years old and it still makes me think even now. I had to sleep with my head under the blankets at night for fear of seeing Regan hissing and spewing vomit at me and I kept my feet from hanging at the foot of the bed for fear of Regan dragging me under and grabbibg at me and breathing that stinky breath in my face as she tries to kiss me.

Anyway, enough about that. For those of you who haven't seen it, The Exorcist is about demonic possession. Many people consider this to be the scariest horror film of all time. I would agree that does have some frightening moments. In particular, I recall the nearly subliminal images of faces, both demonic and human.

The Godfather (1972)

The Godfather: Death, power, violence but also love, passion and reason. This film has touched the minds of millions since it's realese in 1972. This film has no generic time span as it will remain a classic for the test of time.

Braveheart (1995)

Braveheart is one of those few movies that you come across once or twice in a decade. It is a wonderfully told story of William Wallace, a hero whose rise to fame and military power was brought about by the murder of his young wife.

Favorite Foreign Movies:

Tom Yum Goong (Thai) The Protector (USA) Warrior King (UK)

Staring Tony Jaa, this movie I watched just the other week the story line is that his Elephant has been stolen and taken to Austraila and he got to get it back. This movie had got enough bone braking and Murry Thai kickboxing skills that I have seen in any movie.

Huo Yuan Jia (Hong Kong) Jet Li's: Fearless (International)

Classic movie, its tells the story of a Chineese fighter Huo Yuan Jia and his rise to ledgendary status. Its got a great story line the action isnt that bad either.

Bakko Yokaiden Kibakichi 2 (Jap) Kibakichi 2 (International)

This movie is about a monster samurai called Kibakichi he goes around scaring the sushi out of bad guys, theres alot of action and romance which is typical of Japanese movies.

This post will be edited later, with LOTS more of my favourites, I will post them in order, currently only 15, but I will go on IMDb later to remember the rest, they will be slotted in between these;

1. V for Vendetta (Instant classic, great acting by Weaving and Portman and outstanding direction by that guy, forgot his name)

2. First Blood (Some of you may know this as Rambo or Rambo I, Sylvester Stallone at his best and his accent at it's worst - No one would hELP meeeee)

3. The Castle (In my opinion the greatest Aussie Film ever! Some would say Mad Max, but I have not seen that...)

4. The Empire Strikes Back (Also known as Star Wars V, the second Star Wars made, classic which I consider slightly better than the other two in the Original Trilogy)

5. La Leggenda di Al, John e Jack (The BEST Italian movie I've ever seen! The ONLY Italian movie I've ever seen!)

6. Star Wars (Also known as A New Hope and Star Wars IV, I deplore anyone who does not have this film somewhere in their top ten atleast)

7. Back to the Future (I get I and II mixed up but I like them both equally)

8. The Great Escape (Dah!)

11. Escape from New York (Great acting by Kurt Russel, recently bought the DVD. Ash - That's such a Donald Plesance Film...)

Actually, he was assistant director on those. V was his first true directing job. And yeah, Street Fighter was awful. It's good to see someone had 2001 on their list! And yes, Highlander 2 was absolute garbage. Endgame was underrated though. And the 3rd was an improvement over 2. There's also a rumour that James is going to direct the remake of Logans run.

You know over here Endgame went straight onto DVD as soon as it came out' date=' people didnt think it was worthy for the cniema. I think those poeple were wrong because it rounds of nicely a three part saga with a decent ending.

My favorite movie ever is "The Holy Bible", as read and renacted by Betty White and her gang of hoods.

 Betty White had a gang of hoods? *Shudder*

I'm not saying I hate star wars, I do like the film but its not in my top 10 favorites for the simple reason is that my personal preference regarding genre does not pull towards Star Wars.
