[/quote] When 5Ds is over it won't be safe from the banhammer. Same with Stardust. @ Expelsword: Red Dragon Archfiend is easily better than Ancient Fairy Dragon. Remember it is still a generic 3000 ATK beatstick which is handy to have sometimes because Colossal Fighter might not always be able to cut it. RDA or Colossal are really only if I need to run over something Stardust can't handle. Colossal is generally first and whatever Colossal can't deal with, RDA can deal with (ie. stuff that Colossal may for some reason come up short against or crap like Spirit Reaper and Marshmallon which can really be annoying to deal with when you don't draw anything that can remove them from the field). Also, the 3000 ATK helps in OTKs at times when 2800 or 2900 comes up a bit short. Also, in the way of Level 7 Synchros, Ancient Fairy Dragon is simply not good unless you have something specific in mind with it or for some reason have trouble with Field Spells in which case you should be using MST. BRD is always preferred over it. Then there's Scrap Archfiend, Psychic Lifetrancer (which Scrap Archfiend laughs at when it comes to beatsticking) and X-Saber Urbellum which also come to mind in terms of Level 7 Synchros. On Topic, Yes most of you are right, until 5Ds is over none of it will get touched. For an Example and this is why i sometimes hate Konami, according to the September 1st ban List, They haven't touched Stardust Dragon or Starlight Road, but they have Banned Heavy Storm and Brain Control. I'd go with RDA first, due to his defense beating abilities, and high attack. If I'm in trouble, I use Black Rose to blow up the field. I'd rather just get six stars, and summon Goyo instead. They certainly are shoving him down our throats now. Starlight road is a mandatory staple - but I wonder how long will 5Ds last? Its still running in Japan - does someone have the numbers for our era's in yugioh? Classic/GX/5Ds? 2 more years of 5Ds? Then generic synchros start getting phased out/more tuner/type/archetype specific - We have duels on motocycles now - I guess we go to outer space in the next series. It's good for getting over DAD and other monsters on that ATK bracket, making it something that can work in most any deck. AFD only works (and badly) in field reliant decks.
