Succubus Queen Posted September 7, 2010 Report Share Posted September 7, 2010 I missed a whole format, several packs and everything that's been happening with this game. I took a look a the new lists just now and I'm a bit... Confused. I'm guessing this new format will be a bit tricky? What were the new champions of the previous format? What specifically happened to ban Substitoad? Are Frog Monarchs going to die, or will they just make do without? I'm still running Gadgets, but I'd like to get back to Monarchs; am I an idiot? [/quote] Wouldn't you need run at least ten Frogs to make that work? Was it that big of a threat? Even then, isn't Mass Driver the problem card by enabling this variety of OTK in the first place? Dark Hole and Monster Reborn was unbanned... again. Heavy Storm, Brain Control, and Substitoad was banned. Some other stupid moves by Konami too. Just check banlists for those. X-Sabers, Infernities, and probably Quickdraws are top Tier currently. And so yeah. Machina Gadgets are totally safe this format too. [/quote] Mass Driver isn't the problem, Ronintoadin + grave full of Frogs from Substitoad were. In all honesty, it's Ronintoadin that should have been banned, Substitoad was the main drive for a bunch of Frog decks and it was what allowed the Mass Driver finish. It exists to OTK yet Konami is like "nooOOoooOOOoooOO!!" and bans the card in the combo, without getting rid of these cards in the first place?
