So, I can't be sure, but i think you're all mature enough to engage in a civilized discussion of 9/11. gogogogo

You're going to be deathly wrong.

Anyways, I live in NY, so when it happened, I remembered leaving school early, waiting for my parents to get home and all that crap. It was pretty scary.

Somebody that I knew's father died in 9/11. =/

Disregarding my status update, I think it was a terrible thing to of happened, and I am truly sorry to all of those who were lost in the 9/11 attack. However, JG does contain a valid point: "It was one day, in which 3000 people died. Around 200.000 people die every day anyways. Around 10.000+ of those are americans. Every day." so why should we all mourn one countries loss, thousands of people die every day, right? Well, what is listening to one news article on it, what is having one minutes silence for the loss of 3000 innocent people? If a country wants to have a day to mourn (especially all of those who were effected by it) let them, and if you don't want to mourn, don't, go about your day doing something useful to yourself or even others.

Furthermore, which many people have missed out, this day is for realising racism and what extents it drives people to, the attack was by al-Qaeda, a terrorist organisation, so all those racist pigs who are burning Kurans, it is not an entire faith's fault, it is the act and beliefs of one group of terrorists within that religion, much the same as other religions.

If I am wrong I wish to debate with Crab Helmet, no other, if you agree, simply state so.

I agree, but I think with respect the thing you are missing and the day which makes this day different from all other days where americans die is the fact that, that day is a blatant reminder of the threat of terrorism so we remember that day as a defiant and metaphoric stand against terrorism by remembering the lives lost on that day.

JG is right in some aspects. people die everyday, quite often before their 'time'
True, JG, you are right in some aspects. The same can be said for Crab Helmet. But you are wrong in the most important point behind this argument. If 9/11 had happened in Europe instead of in the US, then would you say the same things? Would you not want to mourn the needless deaths of your fellow citizens, or perhaps your friends or family? That is what 9/11 or 11/9 is about, mourning what was lost.

You are right about the war however. The problem with an eye for an eye mentality is soon nobody has eyes left. Plus the war that was founded on this and WMDs lost its purpose when we found that there are no WMDs in Iraq, or anywhere that we know of in the Middle East or whatever you wish to call it. Plus, we are fighting the wrong people. Saudi Arabians were the main perpetrators of 9/11, so why fight the Iraqis? I have no idea. Plus, I watch the news when I get the chance, the news stations haven't covered anything on the wars since 2007-08. War is appaling, it never solves anything, and it usually ends up creating more problems than it is worth. I personally do mourn the loss of Muslim people, and I am Christian. It doesn't matter to me, we are all humans.

When I was going to school (I live in Western Canada) the bus radio was talking about some thing then though out the day I keep hear cries though out the school then I came home I found out what happen. This damn 9/11 thing was so that their was nothing on TV for a month or 2 and now I think the USA deserved it because they think too highly of them stuff and this put them down a little.

That is true, but I truly believe taking a metaphoric stand against terrorism won't solve anything. In my opinion, remembering 9/11 is fine, but it's like feeding the troll, showing al-Qaeda what damage they have caused, showing them how successful they were, showing them that they can get away with near to god damn anything because they burn alongside with the people they have brought destruction to, you can curse them as much as you like but no matter what you do, they are dead, there is no ultimate punishment for them unless there is such a place as hell.

To me, 11/9 is showing al-Qaeda what they can do, that's why I didn't mention it, out of my own beliefs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did you say a proud nation deserved to have 3000 innocent people die for being proud? And your hypothesis behind this is that it left nothing on the television for you to watch... Seriously?

Excuse me but correct me if I am mistaken but are you inferring that the USA deserved to have 3000 + people brutally killed because they think too highly of themselves, let me tell you something:

-If you think that america thinks highly of themselves that is YOUR oppinion
-Even so NO one NO person NO country NO race deserves what happened

you should be ashamed if that's what you infer.

OMG I JUST SAW THAT YOU BACK WHAT YOU SAY UP BY STATING THAT BECUASE OF 9/11 THERE WAS NOTHING ON TV FOR YOU TO WATCH, I'M LITTERALLY SPEECHLESS.
