BulletMan
Welcome into a thread that introduces a new Sub-Type. the Adapters. Now, as it says, they adapt. Adapt to many situations and here are there rules on how they work: 1. Adapters can switch their Type once per turn. This is called Adapt Change and lasts until the End Phase unless certain effects apply. 2. Once per turn, an Adapter monster can send(discard) another Adapter with a different name, but with the same type, from the Deck or hand to the Graveyard. That monster gains the sent monsters effects until the End Phase, unless certain effects are applied. 3. You can discard as many Adapters for other Adapters effects from your hand as much as you like, but only 1 Adapter once per turn can send another Adapter from your Deck to the Graveyard. This is to balance them out so they don't begin to become TOO abusable. Now allow me to introduce the first Adapter: Evolvon Dragon Lore; This card gains 100 ATK for each other Adapter Monster on your field. When this card attacks and the attacked monster is not destroyed, destroy it during the end of the Battle Phase. When this card is discarded by the effect of an Adapter Monster, increase its ATK by 1000 until the End Phase. I plan on making 1 Adapter for every Type of monster. I'm trying to grow on the idea. It still needs some work, but it's fine so far. So far, I have Dragon. Dragons usually have very high ATK and are about power. This is what Evolvon is about here. Huge attack for the Adapters when trouble comes. I think my next Type should be: ....IDK. Give me a few suggestions on that one. Rate and what I should do with this Sub-Type that only has 1 card made so far.
TheMan
Wow, pretty nice idea, I like it. OCG on Evolvon Dragon isn't really a correct one, but we can understand its effect, which is pretty great. I can't wait to see other Adapters, and their effects. I believe there will be many various effects that could make this Set a beater one. I suggest that you make a Spell or Trap Card or even Monster Card with a cost of I don't know how many Life Points or something else, that could return Adapters from Graveyard to your hand, maybe just once per turn or something. But, that's just a suggestion. It's your Set, you decide and create. As for this idea and Promo Monster, 10/10. Like I said, I can't wait to see other Adapters .
BulletMan
Evolvon was on purpose. I just didn't like Evolver Dragon. Sounded to normal. I plan on making a Field Spell for many of them to center around. Might be called "Tree of Evolution". Thanks for the rate.
TheMan
No, I didn't mean Name was wrong, Name is just fine . It's OCG that has some mistakes. Yeah, these guys really should have a Field Spell, and I know it would be creative and effective . And Rep goes +1 here
Toffee.
This looks... interesting. Could an Adapter's effect to discard another adapter to gain its effect be activated on your opponent's turn, if an effect allows it? O,o
Just Crouton
EXTREME CROUTONS, BRO!!! [/self meme trial run] Nice concept, but wouldn't it hard to memorize all the rules of Adaptors when they're not printed on the cards? I wonder what the next Adaptor will be...
BulletMan
This looks... interesting. Could an Adapter's effect to discard another adapter to gain its effect be activated on your opponent's turn, if an effect allows it? O,o
Adapters only do this during your turn. However, I plan on making some Adapters having the ability to do this during the opponents turn. @TheMan: The OCG is not wrong on the name. As I said, it was spelt that way. @Crouton: probably tomorrow.
TheMan
Heh, man you just don't get me . What I meant was: This card gains 100 ATK for each other Adapter Monster you control. And I'm not sure about the last sentence...maybe I'm wrong: "When this card is discarded by the effect of an Adapter Monster, increase its ATK by 1000 until the End Phase." When this card is discarded by the effect of an Adapter Monster, increase the ATK of that monster by 1000 until the End Phase ?
BulletMan
... oops. I'll edit later, since I have to imageshack it. I'll do Zombie next.
Darj
The concept is great. It seems your Adapters would work as a Toolbox Deck, pretty much like Glads and Gemini Decks. Evolvon is a good card to start, but it could be overpowered if the upcoming Adapters get +1500 ATK: By simply discarding this Dragon, they would get +2500 ATK instantly, and I believe you can activate the Adapter's second effect during Damage Calculation, right? so this card is like a 1000-ATK version of Kalut. And since they can be any type, they work well with Limiter Removal for a higher ATK boost. Actually, their ability to change types will allow them to use many Type-exclusive support cards (Hate Buster, Icarus Attack, Fish Depth Charge, etc.), which is a great bonus. But in my opinion, the Machine-Type Adapter should have the ATK-boost effect, as Machines are more focused on ATK than Dragons. Don't forget that you should type all those Adapter Rulings in their card text, similar to how Geminis, Unions,Toons and Spirits got their standard sub-type effects printed in their effects, even when we all know what they do. BulletMan
I can see that... Once I get the set done, I'll repost them all in one thread. Some will have edited effects. I was trying to change this card to be like a Kalut like thing, but it turned out different. Then again, this is the proto-type for the set. I'll probably have this card be unable to do battle damage. That might work.
