Engetsu
Outclassed by Mystical Space Typhoon. Should only be considered if you lack Spell/Trap destruction cards.
M.B X
In my opinion it is much better than MST, its at 3 and it allows you to set your own after you destroy your opponents cards!
Engetsu
Mystical Space Typhoon is faster though, and you need to set Dust Tornado first and wait a turn before you can set it off. Same goes with Dust Tornado's second effect. You still got to wait a turn before you can set off the set card, unless it's a Quick Play Spell? Anyone want to clarify this? M.B X
No lol! Even if it is a Quick-Play, you cannot activate it until the next turn, when Quick-Plays are set they become like Trap Cards. I think...
Engetsu
You're right, and now I feel dumb for even forgetting that lol.
Sephiroth_The_Legend
Speed issue. thats all. Not to mention, space issues. Most decks can't afford to have these in the main deck because they lack space.
M.B X
LOLZ!! Sorry i guess, am sure your not that dumb
Engetsu
Lol, anyways going back on topic. Like Sephiroth said, this card has speed/space issues. That and it's outclassed by MST like I said in my earlier post. Most people can't afford space putting this card into their Main Deck, unless they lack the necessary Spell/Trap destruction. Mr. Judgment Dragon
MST should always be maxed out before considering this since MST does it better.
metalflygon08
It counters Geartown, on the WC games at least (not sure irl) but it makes Geartown miss the timing. This one Trap Card will stop Gears if they ever become good enough for metaness.
Mr. Judgment Dragon
It counters Geartown, on the WC games at least (not sure irl)
The same goes IRL since I think Field Spells would work the same as how Continuous cards work with Dust Tornado. Also, MST does the same thing.
metalflygon08
but unless MST is chained directly to the activation of Geartown, doesn't it still activate both it's effects (like how it can be Heavy Stormed, back in the day)? Mr. Judgment Dragon
but unless MST is chained directly to the activation of Geartown, doesn't it still activate both it's effects (like how it can be Heavy Stormed, back in the day)?
Ah. Found it.
If "Mystical Space Typhoon" is chained to "Geartown", "Mystical Space Typhoon" resolves first and destroys "Geartown" at Chain Link 2. Then, "Geartown" resolves without effect as Chain Link 1. Since it still resolves, the destruction of "Geartown" is not the last thing to happen, so you miss the timing and cannot activate the effect of "Geartown".
Yeah, MST will work as you said it would to stop Geartown completely. The Effects of Continuous, Equip and Field cards though will disappear if destroyed by MST since they have to be on the field for their Effects to apply unless they have an Effect that says otherwise like Geartown does. With Geartown, if the Special Summoning isn't the last thing to happen in the Chain, it will miss the timing since it is optional so I guess Dust Tornado could theoretically be used to stop it provided it's option Spell or Trap Setting Effect is the last thing to resolve in the Chain but that would only work if you decide to set a Spell or Trap. Sephiroth_The_Legend
another option is to play a card and then chain MST to destroy Geartown. doing this will result in it missing the timing.
metalflygon08
same with Morphtronic Map I presume? I'm trying to think of all sorts of cards whose timings Dust Tornado skrews with.
M.B X
2 Things make this card much better than MST... 1/ Use this card's setting effect to speed up the one-turn waiting period on Trap Cards by setting it on your opponent's turn to activate on your own. 2/ You can have 3 "Dust Tornadoes" in your deck so you can set 1, activate it later, then set it then do the cycle again. I know i got these from wiki, and yea this card is better than MST its at 3, it has an additional effect to speed up your traps, and it only targets your opponents cards. Just in case you make a stupid move with MST! Note: This is only my personal opinion and as i look at this from my point of view, so you guys can think whatever.
