Warrior Goddess - Minerva

Recommended Posts

Since I'm getting a tad better with the whole card making thing, I decided to try my hand with higher leveled monsters again.

Any suggestions for changes to this card is appreciated.

-Changed the Summoning requirement and removed the burn effect.
-Also changed it's name (used to be "Goddess of War - Minerva").

Card Lore

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by removing 1 LIGHT Attribute monster from your hand and in your Graveyard from play. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can remove from play 1 LIGHT monster in your Graveyard to destroy 1 monster your opponent controls. This card cannot attack the turn you activated this effect. If this card would be destroyed, you can send 1 LIGHT monster from your hand to the Graveyard instead.

"Goddess Of War- Minerva"

Name: Sexy like the name Minerva 1.7/2
Pic: I seen that pic b4, Anyway I luv it, It's HQ no blurryness or squishyness 2/2
OCG: almost perfect 1.8/2
Effect: More creative than your last card you added more restrictions and power. Mayb instead of x300 make it x 200 2 make it a little more realistic becuase you can keep destroying monsters if you have LIGHT monsters in your Graveyard, it's bad enough your opponent has to lose a monster but now he/she has to take alot of damage 2, just lower the damage inflicted. 1.8/2
Balance: U know me I find most cards balanced or underpowered, this 1 slightly op'd mayb limited @ most which is good making a card that will help alot of LIGHT decks out there. 1.7/2

Sorry 4 the bland comment tired.
Overall: 9/10

Yeah I figured that the effect damage part was a bit much. I'll change it to x 200 like you said.

and thanks for rate and comment. I appreciate it :)

I think its a little overpowered. Its a Chaos Sorcerer that destroys by removing LIGHT from the Graveyard instead of just freely removing from play. One would think that Stardust Dragon is a weakness, but you can also just (instead of using the effect) attack it and have both of them destroyed (same ATK). Although this wouldn't be destroyed if you have LIGHT monsters in your hand, which is helping when adding cards that will be removed by its destroying effect. OR instead of that, you might get lucky and happen to have Honest in your hand.

LIGHT specific Decks will love it. It is also a good excuse to use Trade-in in a Deck.
It might be a full nomi rather than a semi-nomi, but getting it back shouldn't be very hard. Light of Redemption (remove 1 to Summon another copy when in the Graveyard), Monster Reincarnation, Burial From a Different Dimension, and Beckoning Light help get or Summon this.

I can also imagine Thunder Dragon as a handy card for this monster. Or maybe splashed into Lightsworns or with Kristya.

All in all a great card, but the damage is unneeded. Card is still good without it (but that's just my opinion)

Saying "a little overpowered" is not saying "broken" (just wanted to point that out before being misunderstood =D )

Awesome, and the pic is very nice. Is it from somewhere in Deviantart? =0

Now that I think about it. The effect damage does seem rather unneeded, since it's a 2500 beatstick with a destruction and protection effect. That's should be quite enough for this card @_@

To me, this card is more of a Semi-Nomi imo. It doesn't require a specific monster to summon it, and it only needs 2 of any LIGHT monster in order to Summon it.

I tried making this card as balanced as possible. Glad that I didn't make it overly op'ed at the least. XD

and no, the pic is from Photobucket, from Jazin Kay's albums.

Anyways thanks for the comment. I appreciate it :D

When I say "semi-nomi", in yugioh, that's a measure to how much can it be Special Summoned. I'll try to explain what I meant xD

If a card starts with "This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by"... then its a semi-nomi, and can be Special Summoned by other effects, as long as it is in the Graveyard or removed from play AND was sent there from the field (properly Summoned first).

If a card starts with "This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned, except by"... then its a nomi, and it absolutely cannot be Special Summoned in any other way, even if it fulfilled the proper Summoning Conditions first.

According to the way its written, your card belongs to the second category.

Ah I see. Didn't know that lol.

Should I change the Summoning requirement then? So it could be Summoned easier?

Or should I leave it as it is? @_@

Either way its fine xD
Making her semi, won't make her broken, but will probably result in a Deck made around her if it was real lol.

I just noticed the REP, thanks :D
I'll give you one too, you deserve it.

I'm a member that very rarely comes to this section anymore, but I'm finding unusually good cards today =D

lol I would like to see this card being used if it was real. I'm gonna make her a Semi-Nomi, and see what other people think. If it's too much, then I'll put her back as a Nomi.

and thank you very much for the Rep :D and yeah I'm noticing a lot of decent cards being made as well. I'm quite surprised really.

and again, thanks for commenting on my card. I really appreciate it :)
