RP Thread: http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/225084-broken-eternity-yugiohapp-via-oocstarted/page__view__findpost__p__4698547

So, Like, this is our pal Lex(Who?) starting up an RP. Let's get right down to it!
1. You are to follow all forum rules, and be decent and understanding of other players. No exceptions.

2. Admins>Super Mods/Mods>RP Host>Co-Host>Player. That is the order of operations. If someone higher than you tells you to do something, listen to them, even if they're wrong. If there's a problem, PM it it to the next person on the chain.

3. One Character only, with few exceptions. Exceptions being characters that are linked to each other, such as a Duel Spirit, or a Siamese Twin. Secondary characters cannot leave your primary character's side/pressence.

4. Custom Cards are allowed, but each must be passed by the Host/Co-Host team. Plan your decks without custom cards at first, and then submit Cards to the Host-Team for approval.

5. Remember, your character is NOT special. You are not the chosen one or the one to save the world unless the Host or Co-Hosts grant you that right. Do not ct fearless and expect to live if you try to punch Destiny Hero - Plasma; You'll die. End of story...

6. It's actually not the nend of the story! If you die, don't feel bad. While you can only have one character, if a character dies, that means you have none, yes? Meaning you can make another! Wee!

7. have fun!

Failure to Follow these rules:
Depending on the severity, you could be tickled until you cry, or kicked from the RP(If its REALY bad, the Admins might come and stomp on your big toe!)

Quantum Theory. It is a barrier; a protective force, if you will. What exactly does it protect one from? Well...death, of course. You see, there are an infinitely many worlds in which an infinitely many changes are made to what you consider "Normal". This world, named Eodod, is one of those worlds where the "good" stuff never happened. The most notable downfall was Yugi Moto.

In fact, Yugi Moto's death, at the age of 5, was what cause this world's downfall. Hit by a car; the great Yugi Moto killed off as if he were any other person. There are plenty of other realities in which this has happened, but there is a difference about it in this world.
...No one replaced him.

Destiny was never overseen. The evil forces of Merrik, and Darts, and a host of others was never put in check. So, Duel monsters truly became real. The line between spirit and real was hopelessly destroyed.

The Year is <Insert one here?>, about the time Yugi Moto would have entered High School and began his little quest to save the world countless times, the Millennium Artifacts had already been stolen. Duel Monsters is still as popular as ever, but a darkness looms on the horizon.
-In time, the millennium items were expended to break the barrier between spirit and real. Duels with simple card game became lethal, nearly wiping half of the world's current child population. Industrial Illusions, Kiba Corp. and hundreds of other sponsors to the popular Duel Monsters game were torn down by rioting citizens and Nation Guards. With that, "Duel Monsters" became a curse. You invoked the name if you hated something, just as you would a normal bad word.

In a dislocated area, the plan to wipe the city of its weapons had been complete. Dark Forces were now the only ones with Dueling Cards, and the ability to make them. Worse yet, with no barrier between the Spirit and Real Worlds, someone only had to wave their hand to unleash true chaos onto the world....

...Nearly 20 years after the initial invasion, Humans now serve as slaves to Dueling Spirits, who are harnessing the energy produced by their grief and pain to summon "The Horror", a world-devouring menace that would erase the real world, rendering Humans obsolete, and thus ending humanity.
--Of course, as any story goes, you are one of the freedom fighters. Your Superiors are Maximilian Pegasus, Seto Kiba, and other Card collectors and business operators who didn't get rid of their cards. With the barrier between real and spirit broken, only 1 of every ten people are born without the ability to channel the energy of a Dueling Card, and this number has been steadily growing. Pegasus predicts that in two more years, no human will be born without the power to bond with Spirits and bring them to the real world.
--The problem comes with the ammunition the freedom fighters use: The Cards. There is a limited supply of cards, and the ability to infuse cards with the leaking spirit energy is in the hands of the enemy. The only cards that humans can make currently is "Monster Reborn", and various equip spell cards. Hopefully, with these few weapons, the human race can fight for a new tomorrow

Cards, their effects, and other things do not operate the same way. I can't possibly catch EVERY thing about the entire game, but I'll try and do what I can!

First off, the Monster Reborn card doesn't bring a monster back, since the monsters are real. Instead, the card tras the Monster's essence into the card, effectively giving you that monster as a card. This is valuable to your either as a fighter, or as currency.

The Goal of the Humans is to gain the ability to make cards again. This can be done a number of ways, but the humans are only aware of one: Monster Energy. With enough redeemed "Monster Reborn" cards, they're be able to start the Spiritual Wave Generator. That will allow spirits previously captured to be placed back into cards, and the barrier between spirit and real to be fixed.

Effects that discard, destroy at the end of the turn, or remove from play are BAD for you. If a card is discarded, removed from play, or sent to the graveyard at all, then you loose it forever, aside from cards such as feather of the phoenix which can bring cards back!

When fighting, Humans are equivalent to a monster with 400 ATK/DEF. In other words, you guys are wimps. Humans fight with spiritual energy and powers derived fro the cards, and can "Bond" in a sense with Normal Monsters, increasing their stats (ATK/DEF) by that card's stats. Needless to say, Seta Kiba is your team's strongest member in terms of raw power.

Effect monsters are summoned by proper handlers (Matches attribute and type) and can be employed as warriors and henchmen for team Human!

Anything else you guys can think of, pop it to me in this thread, or Via PM, and It'll go here!
.
Your application needs to be thought out, and well done. Ever if your character may die, you need to make them the best they can be, and then make another, and so on. This not only helps you to RP your heart out, but promotes a better understand and seriousness of your characters, and others.

Name: (Your character's name goes here)
Age/Gender: (No older than 19, as people were not born with powerz before that time)
Ability: (Host/Co-Hosts give you this: It will be PM'd to you, along with a color you are to put it in your Bio on this line)
Appearance: (What they look like! No pictures, you must type it out.)
Duel Disk: (Put a witty comment here, those things are useless now)
Backstory/Bio: (This is the Important part. You need three paragraphs AT LEAST. More is better in most cases. The First Paragraph should detail thoughts or ideals or your character, the second should detail how your character either escaped captivity, found the freedom fighters, or what their life was like among them, for those born into the group. The third paragraph is why your character is fighting. This can be simply, like "Monsters are bad!" or complex like "I have a crush on one of the bad guys, but since its a monster, its trying to kill me, so I want to make things normal again so i can dream about them all day without thinking I'm suicidal..."
Power Deciding Factors: These things are what the hosts look at to decide what abilities you get!
Other: (Something I forgot, perhaps. The "Other" section cannot contain Extra powers, hidden destinies, or anything else that puts your character ahead of everyone else. You are NOTHING compared to Kiba's Ego, and Pegasus is far too fabulous for you. Don't even try it! On one note, however, the Hosts/Co-Hosts will be the ones making your characters have hidden destinies, and all that stuff. Everyone gets something!)
Social Association: What political ideal/person do you follow most?, {Seto Kiba, Maxi Pegasus, Duelist's Federation, Shadow Tamers, ect.}
Duel Spirit: (This is one benevolent spirit that either associates with your character, or your character associates with.
Handling Type: (A Type[Warrior, Insect, ect.] and Attribute [Fire/Light, so on]. You can summon spirits that match your Type and/or Attribute. This is different than your Duel spirit, which could be anything(And you don't summon them.)
Nature: (Good? Evil? Neutral? Would this guy have been a "goodguy" or "bad guy" if the world didn't fall apart?)

This is my little explanation about Summoning, and Bonding with Spirits.

Summoning: The Act of bringing a monster to the field under your control. Like in a duel, you can only have five(or less, due to some effects) under your control. If these monsters are destroyed, or removed from play, then those cards will burn up and fade away into spiritual energy that can only be captured with cards such as Monster Reborn

Bonding: This aligns a person's spirit with a monster spirit. The person stays mostly the same. The benefit is a "monstrous" increase in power(ATK/DEF). Bonding is like turning a monster spirit into a Union Monster made just for you, only it doesn't take up a slot on your field, so to speak.

You can summon Normal monsters that you share a type OR attribute with.

You can summon effect monsters that you share Type AND Attribute with.

You can Bond with Normal Monsters you share Type AND Attribute with.

These are the many groups within the overall team that make up your army.

Seto Kiba's Dragons: Strong, powerful straight-up fighters. Most of them have a severe weakness to effects and spells, but make up for it in raw combat ability. They're the perfect copliment to Pegasus's team, who are generally weak in combat.

Silver Wings(Pegasus): While Kiba was saved by virtue of an ancient prophecy and the bond created thousands of years ago, Pegasus saved himself with his raw spiritual talent. His group are the specialists with some of the most versatile and comlex abilities. Their weak combat skills are complimented perfectly by Kiba's team.

Duelist Federation: The Duelist Federation was actually the first group of freedom fighters, but they were so largely disorganized, it might as well not be mentioned. Their focus is scavenging and survival against impossible odds.

Shadow Tamers: These are the bad guys, like Rare Hunters, Society of Light and Dark Signers. The difference being that the current evil people sort of blew these guys out of the water. The Shadow Tamers have the best understanding of the enemy, and use guile and stealth to aid the Forever Dawn Army.

Other: Make your own? sure, why not! Humanity is a big thing, with many different groups. If your character is not part of any group, put Duelist Federation as a default.

Name: Seto Kiba
Age/Gender: Lex doesn't know the Age / Male
Ability: White Lightning: Seta Kiba, even when not in a battle, can harness electrical energy and fire of a Blue-Eyes White Dragon, due to his deep bond with it.

Appearance: Seto is burdened with worry and strain, seen in a constant scowl held on his face. He's tall and thin, usually wearing a duster which accentuates this feature. His hair is brown, and cut in a mullet which just barely hangs into his eyes, making his scowl look that much more fearsome. The Recent troubles have cause Seto to get up off his butt and work out a bit, giving him a bit more muscle than the fan girls are used to.
Duel Disk: He invented them, and now they're useless. A Blow to his ego...
Backstory: Boy Billionaire, and head of Kiba Corp. There were many things around Seto Kiba that made his ego and pride grow bigger. Perhaps this was his eventual downfall, as now he scorns personal wealth and materialism. The Loss of his little brother in the invasion has turned him into a cold(er) and bitter(er?) person, driven by his desire for revenge.
-Seto Kiba is the founder, along with his nemesis, Maximilian Pegasus, of the group known as "Forever Dawn", the freedom fighters of the human race. He and Maxi-poo had the largest card collections with the invasion happened, and were able-bodied fighters. Seto, at first, didn't know how to harness the power of his cards, but Pegasus was able to train him to perfection, as well as unlock other hidden talents within him. Now, he is one of the strongest warriors of the Forever Dawn group, and serves as a field general and strategist.
-His driving force is pure vengeance. The fall of his company at rioting mobs wasn't harsh, but his brother was trampled to death by enraged citizens while trying to stop them. Seto blames humans almost as much as he does monsters. Woe be unto the person who started this mess, should Seto ever find them....
Other: This is an NPC, that people will seldom see!
Duel Spirit: The Legendary Blue-Eyes White Dragon! Rawr!
Handling Type: Dragon/LIGHT
Nature: Mostly antagonistic.

Name: Thomas Coleman
Age/Gender: 15
Ability:
Confusion Chaff Reaction(lex): For some reason, the mind and movements of this person are just...weird. In heavy combat situations(More than 2 opponents) its possible for the character to force an attacking person to attack someone else instead, including other enemies!

Displacement(lex): The character can force a repulsive aura of force around themselves, making their appearance blurry. This also gives them a great defensive advantage, and reduces the body's friction.

Appearance:
Thomas's appearance is a dirty and scruffy one, of course while living during the apocalypse keeping yourself looking good is a bit hard.
Thomas is a way resembles a mop, he is talll, lean and his dirty brown hair messily sits atop his head unkempt and uncombed.
As far as his clothing goes he is rarely seen wearing something other then his big black trenchcoat, a t-shirt that was white once but is now black as a consequence of his lack of a washing machine, a pair of geans with many holes in them and a Fedora which hides his hair.
He thinks that dressing this way makes him look "Cool and Sophisticated" but in reality he just looks stupid.
Duel Disk: Great for leveling out a wobbly table.
Backstory/Bio:
-Despite the fact that the world is falling apart around him Thomas remains optimistic about a bright future.
Unlike some people, he doesn't really show the wear of the end of the world in his personality. He is happy-go-lucky and loves a good joke to lighten the mood of the usually grave atmosphere. Unfortuantly for him this does not endear him to fellow survivours as most see him as a pest or just "too happy", but this does not bother him as he is oblivious to the fact that he annoys people and he continues to smile.

-He was born amongst the Freedom Fighters and maybe this is why he is so optimistic. He has been sheltered by the Fighters his whole life and has not seen much of the damage that the monsters have done to the world, he has yet to see a human slave or hear stories of what monsters do to people (this is because he doesn't to listen to the stories in the first place)

- He has no real reason to fight per-say besides the point to help free the humans from the monsters. He has no great driving force like his mom was murdered before his eyes or his dad was a great hero or the monsters made him drop his ice cream as a child.
He fight because he has to, and that is enough for him, he also wouldn't mind fame, glory, woman, the works.

Other: Loves Animals
Social Association: Kiba scares Thomas most of the time so he prefers Pegasues.
Duel Spirit: Shiba-Warrior Taro
Handling Type: Beast-Warrior/ Earth
Nature: He probably would have played the role of the loveable sidekick who does more bad then good for the hero, but for some reason the hero lets him tag along anyway

Name: Caroline Netcher
Age/Gender: 18 year old female
Abilities:
Lore Breaking(lex): During a fight, the Character can temporarily lock down the "card Lore/Effect" of a weaker monster (Total ATK/DEF is < Character's). This is the equivalent of a "Once per turn" ability, and can only be used on a single monster once.

Card Mastery(lex): The player may discard from their Field/Service one card to know the location of a card that matches the discarded card's type within a certain radius of the seeker.

Appearance: In a more normal universe, Caroline would have grown up as a member of high society, and it shows. She keeps herself groomed and cleaned to the best of her ability, and takes care of her clothes as well, although materials are scarce. She has straight hair tied in a single ponytail that goes down to the middle of her back. While not that tall, Caroline's body is definately curvy and relatively fit, for someone who doesn't really exercise. She had deep green eyes and a line-shaped scar on her forehead which she often hides with her hair. As for clothing? White T-Shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers. Simple, but lets her move about easily.
Duel Disk: Take good care of it. It's a vintage collectors item, of a bygone era.
Backstory: Caroline was born into a wealthy family, and was much loved by her parents. Even after calamity struck, her parents spoiled her, and refused to let her anywhere near the fighting. This caused dissent among the other survivors, who wanted every able body to help out. Once her father was injured, Caroline stood up and volunteered to take his place, since she was itching to help out all this time. She quickly learned the realities of the current fight, but even then, she would not give up, and stayed in the fight.

Due to her upbringing, Caroline is selfish and self-centered. She isn't rude to others, not at all, but her worldview is centered on her. As if she was the protagonist of a story. She feels that she is destined to become a great leader, a hero of the human race. Sure, there are all these bad things going on, but she believes that she is fated to be a key player in the defeat of the dark forces. Her delusions of grandeur don't get in the way of her decision making, after all, villains are often more powerful than the good guys, causing the heroes to utilize everything they have to win. She can be sweet and kind, but one can't tell if she is acting genuinely or because of her selfish belief system.

As of now she still is fighting for humanity's freedom. Tales of a time where Duel Monsters was a simple game played between friends sounds idyllic to her, though she isn't sure if the world can go back to it after all of this is through. Still, peace is something she would like more of, and not these crazy plots. Those should stay in the storybooks.
Other: Caroline is not limited to reading stories penned by others! She likes to write stories of her own; fanfiction or otherwise. While she has grown out of the habit of using an idealized version of herself as the protagonist, she is still writing Mary Sues, this time in the form of idealized men whom her self-insert eventually marries. Besides her growing writing skills, she is rather creative elsewhere, being good at sewing among other things. In fact, if it didn't look silly to her, she would have had a deckbox sewn into her jeans.
Social Association: Card Masters, a group of people who were bent on analyzing various cards in order to find out how to make more. Was originally led by Industrial Illusions employees. Needless to say, once Pegasus was shown to be alive, they were pretty much absorbed into the Silver Wings, though the Card Masters still identify themselves as such, due to their specific focus. Caroline is one of the fighters, and has little to do with the research part.
Duel Spirit: Element Valkyrie. Caroline has no idea why she sticks around so much.
Handling Type: Fairy/Light
Nature: While she would claim she is good, in a more normal world, she would be neutral. If she had powers herself in a peaceful world, she would use them discreetly in order to secure advantages for herself and her close friends. She *does* have some good in her, and will always stand up for humanity in general.

Name: Dylan
Age/Gender: 15 years old/male
Ability: Wing Shatter(lex): By removing one Dragon-type or Winged Beast-type monster from his possession, he can block an incoming attack.
Appearance: He has a very closed-off choice in fashion. He wears a black hooded sweatshirt on his upper body, often with the hood flipped up and his arms hidden in the sleeves. He also wears navy blue sweatpants, though they're in such shoddy condition that they may as well be a slightly bluish black. His choice of footwear is almost as dark, with black sneakers over white socks. When his hood is down, you can see longish, wavy brown hair desperately in need of some grooming, along with peach fuzz showing above his lip. He will take the hoodie off and tie it around his waste if it gets too hot, revealing a (surprisingly light) gray shirt. His body is not the most well-structured, but he gets by just fine (from his point of view, anyway).
Duel Disk: What's the point? They're heavy, awkward, and rather pointless when monsters are real.
Backstory: He was given birth anonymously, and his parents apparently died as the Shadow Tamers started rising to power. A couple members of the Duelist Federation found him as a baby, and took him in. Of course, these two argued so much over who he should be named after that they only gave him a first name. His adopted parents paid plenty of attention to him when they could, but they were always on the move, leaving him to fend for himself for about half of his childhood. As such, he grew up aspiring to be part of the Duelist Federation, but never really knew anyone, and had trouble getting near them at first. However, he soon found his talent, and made a couple friends along the way (that would be any other PC members of the D Fed, possibly with a couple of NPCs thrown in).

He is very loyal and open to his friends, but very closed off to pretty much anyone else. He's somewhat lazy, but can accomplish plenty when sufficiently motivated. He often wanders into his imagination when unoccupied, wondering what the world would be like with or without certain things.

His adopted parents are the biggest reason he's a member of the D Fed, while being with them is what makes him fight. In all honesty, he'd probably just sit out and try to get by if he didn't feel honor-bound to the Freedom Fighters, and if Delta Flyer would leave him alone about it.
Other: His being closed off has actually led him to be rather calm and tolerant of others' behavior. On the other hand, he can get emotional pretty quickly if you press the right buttons.
Social Associations: He's a member of the D Fed mostly because he's afraid of Pegasus and Kaiba.
Duel Spirit: Delta Flyer, whose personality is incredibly different from his own.
Handling Type: WIND Dragon-type
Nature: Somewhere between neutral and good. He's rather self-centered, but has been described as having a heart of gold...with thick lead plating.

Name: Manami Hamasaki
Age/Gender: 19/Female
Ability: Rage of Dragons(lex): When Fighting, this character gains 400 ATK. (Equivalent to "When this monster attacks, it gains X ATK during Damage calculation) Also, when this character destroys a monster by battle themselves, the effects of that monster are negated.
Appearance: For a Japanese girl, Manami is fairly tall, although that's not exactly saying a lot, and she's about 5' 4". She has a fairly slim build, although she's quite well endowed. He hair is a jet black, with a hint of dark blue in it, and she usually keeps it up in a ponytail, and her eyes are a deep blue. Her usual clothes consist of black trousers, a blue jacket and a white shirt, along with black boots.
Duel Disk: She found one once. She used it as a weapon.
Backstory/Bio: Manami is a string believer in equality - in another world, she would likely have pushed herself to prove to the world that women could be better than men, although in this one simply fighting for survival is enough. She constantly wants to improve herself, and is loathe to tolerate weakness or slacking in others. She's dynamic, and is often a driving force, although she's sharp enough that she can usually see potential complications or traps.
Manami's father died before she was born, and her mother shortly after, and although they were high up in a major corporation, no-one recognised this fact, and the young girl was shunted off to an orphanage, which was funded by Kaibacorp. When Manami was 5 the orphanage was attacked, and Kaiba himself oversaw the rescue of the children there, which, combined with the fact that his money had been taking care of her until that point, caused the young girl to look up to him. The children from the orphanage who managed to escape were taken in by members of various groups, and Manami was entrusted to a couple in the Silver Wings, who started training her. As soon as she could, she moved over to Seto Kaiba's Dragons, and began to make herself known in the group, trying to get closer to Kaiba, who had become something of an idol - and possibly a crush - to her.
Her immediate reason for fighting is to stay alive, however she also wants to prove herself, to herself and to the world at large. Having seen how many orphans there now are, she also wishes to create a world where not having parents is a rare thing, and not a common one. She also wants to reach the same level of power that Kaiba has, at least as far as possible.
Other: N/A
Social Association: Seto Kaiba's Dragons
Duel Spirit: Effect Veiler (He began to associate with her when she was with the Silver Wings, and hasn't gone away)
Handling Type: WATER/Sea Serpent
Nature: Neutral, leaning towards Good.

Name: Zeke Walters
Age/Gender: 16/Male
Ability: Genex Control Circuit(lex): The character can see, and actively interact with Machine Type Duel Spirits, and Monster Spirits, going as far as to have conversations and poke each other!
Appearance: A sad-looking fellow. He wears a light grey t-shirt, and ragged, dirty jeans. Has a brown backpack, filled with what appears to be junk. Hair the color of soot, and steely blue eyes... He's very tall and well-built. Always has a melancholy demeanor, and doesn't look like he ever took some time to really enjoy life.
Duel Disk: Useless to him, but so many people want to own one, for some odd reason...
Bio/Backstory: Zeke's about as emotionally distant as someone could be. He doesn't talk too much, and always seems to be thinking about just work. He doesn't do anything that won't increase his chances of survival, except tinkering around with junk. He's very good with his hands, and in another world, he would probably be an engineer. He's having second thoughts on this whole "freedom fighter" thing, but he wants to fight, and he's not sure exactly why.
Zeke had no mother to raise him, she died during his birth. His father always blamed him for it, and was... abusive... to his son. Zeke ran away at age 12, broken and alone. For the first two years, he wandered around the world, picking up junk, modifying them into now-scarce items (water filters, heatstoves, etc.) and trading them for food. At age 14, he joined the Federation, mostly so he had more people to sell his wares to. After they collapsed, he still wanders, but the Duelist Federation implanted some ideas into his head...
He does want to fight, yes, but every night, when he mulls it over in his head, he just doesn't see the personal gain for himself. He's thinking he might want to actually help someone that ISN'T him... just because.
Other: Hit him normally, and you'll break your fist. Hit him emotionally...
Social Association: Duelist Federation, legally. Only himself in his mind...
Duel Spirit: Genex Controller. He's actually fairly hyper and talkative, and most people choose to talk to him instead of Zeke. They don't mind.
Handling Type: Machine/DARK
Nature: The closest to true neutral someone could be. Every time he weighs a situation, he only thinks, "How does this help me?" This just makes this whole "incentive to fight" thing really weird for him.

Do you take reservations? I don't really have time to make an app right now, though I have ideas.

P.S. Have you heard of the card Shadow Tamer? (If you haven't, look her up on the Yu-Gi-oh! Wiki) Maybe you could use her as a flag or something for the bad guys.

Awesome. Hopefully I'll have my app in tonight or this afternoon. But before I begin, I'm still a little fuzzy on the rules. Is it okay if I use Dragunity monsters as my main force? I already want WIND Dragon-types as my handling type, but these guys are tough to use, especially with all their effects that activate from (or on the way to) the Graveyard. Just wanted to clarify that before submitting.

Very well thought out Rp :D
Good to see you put effort into it

Power Deciding Factors: These things are what the hosts look at to decide what abilities you get!

Accepted. PM en route

@ Grandt

Things going to the graveyard is bad, as that means it is destroyed. Monster Reborn cards can bring monster spirits back under your control, but those are expensive. In the case of Fabled/Cycling types of cards, you must first build up an army for that to be effective. Remember humans are on the brink of extinction, and Cards were pretty much thrown away once people thought they were a threat, so the characters start with very few, if any monsters. Its also very likely you'll be fighting your Dragunity friends before Handling them ;)

Send me a link or something so I can review them, since our setting is a bit sensitive to Graveyard Bouncing and such. For now, try and focus on Original cards and add the custom things in later.

I have a question just to clear things up for me :/
Do the monsters you summon have to be of the type and atribute you chose i.e. Do my monsters have to be beast-warrior AND Earth
Or is it they can be beast-warrior OR Earth
Sorry if its a bit obvious I'm just a little confused

I might have worded it poorly too. I was half-asleep when I put this up.

You can summon a Normal Monster that matches either your Type, or Attribute.

You can Summon an effect monster that matches your type AND your attribute.

You can Bond with a Normal Monster that matches your Type [s]AND[/s] your attribute

I'll put a better explanation up top

It's hard to find time to post here from school. In any case, the Dragunity monsters' Wikia page is here. Feel free to surf around the individual cards (note that they haven't been released in the TCG yet).

On another note, having to fight the Dragunity monsters before Handling them would be... interesting. I could turn that into a plot hook! ^_^ Maybe I'll just start with Luster Dragons for now.

Name: Caroline Netcher
Age/Gender: 18 year old female
Abilities:
Lore Breaking: During a fight, the Character can temporarily lock down the "card Lore/Effect" of a weaker monster (Total ATK/DEF is < Character's). This is the equivalent of a "Once per turn" ability, and can only be used on a single monster once.

Card Mastery: The player may discard from their Field/Service one card to know the location of a card that matches the discarded card's type within a certain radius of the seeker.

Power Deciding Factors:

I'll fix anything you need me to.

Name: Dylan (no known last name [AKA I couldn't think of one. I promise it'll work out!])
Age/Gender: 15 years old/male
Ability: Wing Shatter: By removing one Dragon-type or Winged Beast-type monster from his possession, he can block an incoming attack.

Power Deciding Factors: to be determined...

Took a look at the Dragunity monsters, and as someone who runs an equip-burning deck, I like em! However, keep in mind a lot of them are summon from the graveyard. At first, you wont have a graveyard to summon them from, or many monsters to equip them to. Also, as a person, you wont be able to equip the monsters to yourself, i dont think, since you're never summoned, you're just there. But aside from that, you're fine ;) Approved once I think up some abilities for you!

Hmm... maybe we could meet our first monsters during the first section of the RP? How well they match our Handling Type might vary, but I just think It would be more fun to not know what cards we get until we get more into character (though honestly, I'm half-expecting to get Petit Dragon).

*Gives Grandt Thousand-Eyes Idol and snickers*

Things that discard from the hand or "top of the deck" have to be from the "field", which will seriously limit your ritual/Fusion summoning. Synchro summoning will be the same, only once you synchro summon the monster, it wont need to be synchro summoned again with a tuner. Still working on exactly how that will work, though.

As for cards you start with, Im thinking everyone will start with a level 2 or 1 monster or a Co/Host's choosing that DOESN'T match their handling type for the purpose of Bonding, or is a really crappy effect monster. As for Equip spell cards, everyone will have a handful of those, since the humans can make those. They will also reflect your handling type in some way, like those crappy equip cards from the beginning of the card game* that would only equip to a LIGHT or FIRE or Warrior type of monster, and give it like 300 ATK.

Im still working out a number of kinks, and anyone who feels they have ideas are welcome to PM them to me ;) Also would be nice to have an inspired Co-Host to help out!** ;)

*takes Thousand-Eyes Idol and stares at it*

Thanks, I guess...? I don't really have any use for that card, but oh well. *pockets it* Keep the Snickers; I prefer Reeses.

And if you're trying to subliminally offer me a co-host position, thanks, but I'll decline. I've never been in any continuing RPs before, and I don't think suddenly becoming the co-host of one I already have a character for would be a smart idea (besides, I suck as a leader).

...On the other hand, we might be able to discuss any specifics in PM, so...stay in touch, I guess. At least we have two other potential characters now.

And to finish the mind-wandering tonight, I kinda wish my schedule wasn't so messed up tonight. I want to be on my computer from home. T_T

So once you Synchro Summon something you summon it like a normal/effect monster, right?

Name: Manami Hamasaki
Age/Gender: 19/Female
Ability: Rage of Dragons: When Fighting, this character gains 400 ATK.
Power Deciding Factors:
Other: N/A
Social Association: Seto Kaiba's Dragons
Duel Spirit: Effect Veiler (He began to associate with her when she was with the Silver Wings, and hasn't gone away)
Handling Type: WATER/Sea Serpent
Nature: Neutral, leaning towards Good.

Just so you know, I don't need Kaiba to be around any more than he would be is she wasn't in the RP.

@ Psyduck Something like that. Or maybe I'll make them the only effect monsters that you can actually bond with, along with Ritual and Fusion monsters. For now, I just know that they'd be nearly useless if you had to wipe your field EVERY time you anted to summon them. Tribute summons already do that for Non-Synchro/fusion/ritual monsters. Once I map out how they'll work, I'll be able to figure out how I want them to stay. Until then! I'll keep yall Updated! ....Oh and your App is accepted. Nice App and good set-up there. PM soon with powar!

I have a couple questions about the rules, as I left my notebook, character completely in it, in a place I cannot retrieve it from at the moment.
1. Do people count as the types/attributes they have chosen? (Ex: Is Manami a WATER/Sea Serpent for the purpose of card effects?)
2. If the above is true, could a person be equipped with equip cards they can legally use as if they were a monster? (I got nothing for examples, as Equips aren't really my specialty.)
3. Could characters "combine" their types/attributes to summon effect monsters? (Ex: DARK character + Dragon character = Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon Summoned)

I'm bending the rules too much, aren't I?
