When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Gladiator Beast" monster, you can select 1 "Gladiator Beast" monster in your Graveyard. Remove it from play and this card's name becomes the name of the monster you removed from play until the End Phase. At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked, you can return it to the Deck to Special Summon 1 "Gladiator Beast" monster from your Deck, except "Gladiator Beast Lanista".

it's true that you can already do that with darius, but now you don't need besti in grave. ;)

It's pretty long until the next banlist. It's perfectly possible that some card(s) will be released that put Glads way behind the meta so they aren't touched. I doubt they're setting decisions in stone already.

contact fusion has always been a bit murky in my mind, so:
this says it's name is only treated as best while on the field. can it still contact fuse? does it's name still have to be best in the grave in order to fuse?
i feel like there's a precedent with synchros wherein they cannot... but i can't come up with an example.

@bolded: Remember, this is Konami. Anything can happen when it comes to ban lists.
@italicized: I'm hoping they do that. If they do that, Bestiari can go back to 3.

Why would this get Bestiari banned? People would just use this instead of Besti then, hell this is actually better than Besti in some ways especially since it gives GBs an easy way to defeat Stardust finally. What will probably happen is that Gyzarus itself will be banned.

Even without Gyzarus, I would still run this card, I mean it has an instant-bounce effect people.
