Of course they are...it's a natural part of being a male in most any species, so it has to be at least neutral if not good for you to get an erection. Anyway, I'm surprised but at the same time I'm not...this article made my day though.

Not true, since a lot of, probably most, species don't have penises, at least not in the sense that mammals do. For species that do it's not a bad thing, but they're in the minority.

The erection part doesn't matter anyway. It's the 'sexual excitement' increasing blood flow that's the cause of health, of which an erection is simply an effect of. In theory, a woman staring at whatever part of men it is they find attractive would have the same effect.

I can't help feeling there's something that's been overlooked here though. Something about men and a lack of sexual interest in women...
