Bahamut - Envoy of the End
Are America and Britian going to go in there and save the South Koreans, and end the tyranny of Kim Jong Il and establish a proper democracy like we attempted to do in Iraq?.... Are we f***, not when N.Korea has actual weapons they can fire at us, unlike Iraq which was pretty much shooting fish (and everything else than moves since we're talking American military) in a barrel and - completely coincidently - had a lot of natural resources around. Strange how quiet the world policing authority (America) becomes when faced with an actual problem. All talk and no trousers. Back on topic: I try to understand as much about politics as I can, but it's just so depressing. Politicians are highly paid liers. S'all you need to know. FTW (For The Wynn)
50+ years in the making folks. North and South Korea have been practically in cold war for a long time, and if not for the demilitarized zone they would have been at this for a long time. Strategically, this is the best time for North Korea to begin war. The US is reeling from poor economy, lack of resources and a 2 front "war" (Afghanistan and Iran) so we are too far spread to actually assist the South Koreans in their defense. Anyway, that History Teacher is absolutely correct, for all the fancy words and the papers and the armies, politics is basically an expanded version of two kids fighting over the same toy. Eventually mommy needs to come in and tell them to share and give them a spanking. @Matt, American politicians have screwed us over so much that most of us aren't even aware that we are in a war. I wish that was an exaggeration. We can't even solve our own problems right now, let alone anyone else's problems.
Agree with most of that, although I'm not as up on world history as I used to be (...i'm not as up on most subjects as I used to be... ) the Korean War still holds a grip over there. I feel sorry for the poor N.Koreans having to put up with that little tyrant brainwashing them all and killing anyone who doesn't dot the i's. Seriously why are all tyrants short? Don't worry, I'm sure mommy (the UN) will come in and do something about this... oh wait... the UN have never ever done anything except finger-wag. Dammit! We're in pretty much the same boat mate, trying our best to sweep it under the carpet as well. Both our shiny beacons of hope, Obama and Cameron, have lost their shine a bit recently, although they're still wading through the s*** their predecessors left them in. Brighter note: You've reminded me off the best George Double-Ya joke I've ever heard.

I don't think any "mommy" came in to tell two combatants to share in the entire history of war. It's almost always been one side wins and then dictates the terms. As for the war, I suppose it would be less difficult then the war in Iraq or Afghanistan. For those, we're not fighting against Iraq or Afghanistan. We're fighting against the secret underground terrorist militia that are given a haven there. It's guerrilla warfare, which is much different from standard warfare, which is what fighting against North Korea would be IIRC. But I haven't picked up a history book in 2 years, so what do I know?
That was more wishful thinking than anything else. It probably won't happen, but it would be a solution if it did. Also, agreed on the rest. However, even though the circumstances are different combat-wise, it still leads to the same conclusion that adding another combat, especially one that would most likely be all out warfare, is utter stupidity. We don't have the resources, or the troops, or the equipment, or even the time to do so. We probably still will give aid though in some way. FTW (For The Wynn)
Based off of those, I would try either Fox or NBC. They both will give colored versions, but if you go past the politics it will be at least informative. CNN will eventually air something on it...after listing all of the latest celeb gossip. As for your local station, they'll be bound to say something about it later.

Sure a lot of politicians are liars and think about their money, but do you keep track on every politican in the world and can tell that their job consists only of lying and being retarded? What about the green/green-inclined politicians who actually do something (I don't mean Al Gore by that though ._.)? Aung San Suu Kyi? Sure in that case it's not just childish bickering coming a whole country it's coming from a single person mostly and that's what's frightening. Eh...I thought this wasn't serious since the articles you linked come from young people who signed up in October/November 2010 and they're not written that well really. If it were physically possible to place all the various issues "into a single drawer", things would be so much simpler. Also, I wonder what their stand is on this, if any...I suppose we shall see. Also, I'm not familiar with Aung San Suu Kyi, so I unfortunately cannot answer that at this time. I'll look up information on Kyi. Also, the vast majority of politicians that I can recall all seem to be self-servers, so you'll have to excuse me for being stereotypical. When I find a politician who lives up to the purpose of their office (enriching the lives of the "common man" and giving a country or province what it requires) then I will stop using that stereotype. I can't pretend to know every politician, so there could easily be several that are people of great quality who live up to their promises. Sure in that case it's not just childish bickering coming a whole country it's coming from a single person mostly and that's what's frightening.
