Venom
If you Normal summon this card, the tribute(s) Must be WATER. This card gains ATK equal to the number of WATER monsters in your graveyard x 300. Once per turn, you can send 1 Pyro-Type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard to destroy 1 face-down Spell or Trap card your opponent controls. This card loses 500 ATK during each of your End Phases. Once per turn you can Remove 1 WATER monster in your graveyard to increase this card's ATK by 800. If this card's ATK becomes 0, it is switched to Defense Position. During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent. I thought of the ATK running out in a similar way steam-powered machines need boiling water to keep functioning.
Darj
In the first place, you cannot Tribute monsters from your hand. The card is not good: it requires a lot of monsters, and the least ATK it can get would be 2000; you can Summon stronger monsters by Tributing 1 single monster (for example, any Monarch), so you may very well run one of them over this card. It's effect requires "Volcanic Shell", a FIRE Pyro-Type monster, but you will need WATERs to Summon the Steampunk, so you are indirectly suggesting to mix a Volcanic in a WATER Deck, and I doubt that would work well. The only Deck I think would be able to use your card would be "Frogs", but with the few advantages this card offers it wouldn't be used at all. If you want to improve this card while keeping the concept of adding water to a boiling machine, you could try something like this: Level 6 ATK: 1000 DEF: 1900 Effect: When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, it gains ATK equal to the number of WATER monsters in your Graveyard x300. Once per turn, you can send 1 Volcanic Shell from your hand or field to the Graveyard to destroy 1 face-down Spell or Trap card your opponent controls. During each of your End Phases, this card loses 500 ATK. Once per turn, you can remove from play 1 WATER monster from your Graveyard to increase this card's ATK by 800. You can activate this effect during either player's turn. If this card's ATK becomes 0, it is switched to Defense Position. This card inflicts Piercing Damage.
