Smesh
Although addicting to me, YCM hasn't really put that much of an impact on my grades. I've procrastinated, but ended up with good grades. I know a lot of you have seen your grades go down because of YCM. And when they do,what do you do to prevent it? I've debated having a mod ban me for a month or two because of my extreme procrastination, but I've never done it. Discuss.
Anbu-of-Sand
Do homework first, YCM second. Done. Or if the teacher tells you to study, study for an hour or two, then YCM. Either way, just do your schoolwork first before going on YCM. That's what I've been doing. Well, kinda. I'm doing a project / and on YCM as of right now. snowyash
In England, I had my GCSE's recently. I played on games (not strictly YCM, but similar scenario), all the way through the time I had off of school to study. I still passed all my subjects and pulled out an A in English Literature. I'm a procrastinator, but I still payed attention in school, so I think that balanced it out a bit.
Βyakuya
YCM had given me procrastination and practically made my grades the worse than my other grades. I think I should take a break, since there is nothing to do.
Juuzou
I honestly think that many of the people on ycm, that AREN'T complete morons, won't have any trouble. The majority of people here are 'I pay attention in school, do my homework in first hour, and get good enough grades to get into the college I want'. I never saw this site as much of a problem towards my grades anyhow.
Larxene
I procrastinate for a whole hell of a lot of reasons other than YCM. YCM has never been a major part of my life, not counting the RP from way back.
Tentacruel
Well, I have to finish a project tonight, and where am I right now? Let that answer the question. Then again, I would procrastinate anyway, I'm just using YCM as a medium to do so.
Death Metal
If I got something to do, I do it. YCM doesn't put a stopper on my life. >_>
Icy
I've debated having a mod ban me for a month or two because of my extreme procrastination, but I've never done it.
YCM does not stop you, you stop you. Banning someone because they don't have self-control would be silly. If you are having second thoughts; just click the log-out link. And it hasn't stopped me at all, YCM will be here when I get back. It'll be here when I'm gone and considering how often I am on MSN; you can always find ways to contact me. Not an issue AT ALL.
Clair
I actually had a big problem with this site sophomore year. I made it out on the Honor Roll, but barely... Now that junior year is rolling around, I find that I have my priorities more in order. YCM doesn't seem that addicting anymore, and I've gotten more involved with school activities. :D Like Josh said, YCM will always be here when I come back. Hopefully. Marisa Kirisame-ze
YCM has never affected anything of mine irl. My grades still stand nicely, and I only go on YCM when I have free time. Due to the way I pace myself, I have plenty of free time is all.
Cin
I would suggesting using YCM only during breaks during revision or homework, but we know how 'addicting' this place is. I think if you get distracted by YCM/the computer you will always find away to be distracted anyhow, I always found even revising on the computer made distraction easy I remember pulling the Ethernet out of my old PC several times to stop me. (I find sometimes typing things/writing them is a good way for me to remember them). I have a router downstairs so I could just tell my parents not to turn it on until a certain time. During the later years of school I could do all my homework during my free periods I had enough of them. (7 in Year 13, 9 in Year 14, and a annoying 14 in Year 15)
DARKPLANT RISING
I study for an hour, then do YCM for 10 minutes. I also have a 30-minute limit to how much I can do in 1 day. My mother keeps the timer. Therefore, it acts as a stress remover and it actually helps my grades go higher.
