Yes. If it had 100 less ATK, that could easily have been very fun to play with - about as fun as Chaos-End Master + Byser Shock.

*sigh* Is there really no way to use this that's worth the effort against powerful decks?

I have a feeling that Whambulance thinks attacking this, and this card surviving, counts as this being Flip Summoned.
Pretty much you have deliberately ram something into this, so the Opponent ends up having it in attack position when it comes around to your turn.

Or your opponent proceeds to summon Level Eater, tributes it to summon another, and flips Guardian Sphinx face-down, using Smashing Ground or something to handle the monster.

Or:

[*]Flip Summon
[*]Attack
[*]Tribute it to Set another copy
[/list]

But seriously one just has to summon Stardust or Scrap Dragon and this dies.

Even if the opponent drops Dark Hole on that, you could just use Limit Reverse + IRS at the end of your opponent's turn and laugh. xD

Do you mean the person using Sphinx, or the person facing it?

It would certainly make sense to run Burden with this.

Let's see what one can do with it:

[b]Searchable by Arsenal Summoner and Gold Sarcophagus.
After one has already been summoned, you have access to infinite Level Eaters (but only one per turn per Guardian Sphinx), making it easy to play a second one.[/b]
Can be used to summon Exxod (but who would?).
Makes Guard Penalty an OK Draw engine.
[b]Summon with RftDD/Release from Stone/DDR and flip it face-down to avoid the consequences.
Use generic revival on it to being it out.[/b]
Bring out extras with Broken Blocker.
Make them discard their monsters with Morphing Jar/Card Destruction/Robbin' Goblin/Royal Tribute, RFP them with Degenerate Circuit, or return them to the Deck with Trap Dustshoot/Heavy Slump.
Create an attack lock with Vengeful Bog Spirit.

It looks like using Foolish/Sarc and then bringing it out like that would be the only option here, unless you want to try your luck with Reasoning/Monster Gate...

Arsenal Summoner and/or Broken Blocker are probably the best options here, IMO
