Since before we even knew they existed?! The effect is useful in a deck that plans to use Synchro Fusion, or a deck that for some reason uses both Synchros and Fusions. You'd use it with DNA Surgery just to Machine Dupe it? I still don't get it. A Fusion-based deck that can Synchro Summon? A Synchro-based deck that can use a powerful Fusion? Wow, I just realized this: Level X Tuner + Level (5-X) Spellcaster-type non-Tuner + this = Arcanite Magician. What I love about Synchro Fusionist is that it could either make a game or become a complete dead draw. Even then, it's so easy to find him.
