[/center]Player a activates Iron Core of Koaki Meiru to skip the draw phase and add it to his/her hand.
Player b chains DD Crow to remove targeted Iron Core of koaki meiru
Player a activates targeted Iron core of koaki meiru again by discarding a koaki meiru monster from his/her hand

Legal? Discuss.

I personally think this card should be errata.

I asked because of the word "and" Also because of the whole "if/when" never missing the timing, I wanted to see how people would rule it.

My ruling would be that if you choose to activate both effects you would have to do so at the same time. Why would anybody want to? IDK decking out maybe? But it could be another bkss in the making.

If Koa'ki Meirus need two things, they are:
• a good draw engine
• a replacement for Iron Core that isn't completely useless or a card disadvantage

Maybe an effect for a replacement could be like:
While this card is in your hand, Deck, or Graveyard, its name is also treated as "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru". If this card is sent from your hand to your Graveyard during the End Phase, you can draw a card. [The rest of Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru's effect]

Maybe broken, but I don't think so. It doesn't have any effects on its own, so it's still a dead draw.
Hopefully specifying that it isn't named Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru in all places will let it bypass the "Harpie Lady" rule. Then again, Harpie Queen doesn't say "Deck", so i don't know.

Its a Trigger Effect. Trigger Effects are Chain Link 1. You cannot chain it to anything.

I understand all of that, my question is why would this card include the word, "and" if it wasn't meant for chaining purposes? And if they included the word "and" why not separate it for two effects?

There is no point to the "and" because you cannot perform the both effects on one card at the same time.

This card has two triggers, one first one is "During your Draw Phase, before you Draw" (because of the nature of the first effect) and the other is "During your Draw Phase". This also means that this card has two separate effects. You choose which one you are activating.

The "During Your Draw Phase" trigger of the second effect can occur anytime during the Draw Phase (meaning Before or After you Draw). Remember just like any cards that trigger to a "Phase" (i.e. Standby Phase or End Phase), you can activate the cards in any order you choose as Chain Link 1. You can activate each "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" individually as needed for each "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" you want to add back into your hand.

If you have multiple copies of "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" in your Graveyard, you can choose either of the options to add them all to your hand. (Through each of their effects activating, not by the effect of only one "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru).

For Example, the Draw Phase can look like this.

Step 1) Before I Draw, I choose to activate "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru"'s first effect to add it to my hand by skipping my Draw that turn. If it is successfully, I add it to my hand.

Step 2) It is still the Draw Phase, I choose to activate another "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" in my Graveyard by discarding 1 "Koa'ki Meiru" monster. I do that, and assuming it goes through successfully, it is added to my hand.

Step 3) Again, It is still the Draw Phase. I choose to activate my third "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" in my Graveyard, discard another "Koa'ki Meiru" monster, and if successful, it is also added into my hand.

Remember that both effects of this card are "Optional Trigger" effects. They can only be directly chained to their declared trigger (The first effect being "During the Draw Phase, before you Draw and the second being "During your Draw Phase".) They are Spell Speed 1.
