There were many things wrong with the thread.
The creator didn't take any criticism on board and rather than act upon it, took offence and lashed out.
The retaliation by other members didn't help either.
I saw this thread and decided not to post in it, what was the point if I know my views won't be taken in and used?
I think after the first comment by the thread creator, no one else should have posted, keep the thread away from other users and be reported.

As to your second question, I haven't been here too long but this is the first that I've seen with replies and arguments such as this one.
Not sure if this is the kind of answer you were after, but it's what I've given.
