Amazing Plays

Recommended Posts

sounds like a fun topic idea.
here's my most recent, amazing play:

opponent has relinquished, it has eaten my morphing jar. play giant trunade, normal summon the returned jar, creature swap with relinquished, and eat my own jar. what was my purpose? none. did it help me? probably lost me the game. but the look on his face? priceless.

obviously the look on your face

I think an amazing play I made was when I mind controlled my opponent's stardust, summoned mind master to tribute off my gusta for a doctor cranium, made formula synchron into shooting star dragon, revealing 3 gusta tuners for game.

idk, i'll try to think of more later.

Back in the days of Cybernetic Revolution, I was playing with my friend's son. He wanted to play with the Egyptian God cards - to which I agreed.

Well, he managed to get out Obelisk the Tormentor and hit me for 4000 damge (OUCH!). At the end of his turn, I activated Scapegoat to get the 4 Sheep Tokens. (You will find out why I didn't do it in response to Obelisk's attack in a moment). Now came my turn. I used the Call of the Haunted I had out to bring back my Cybernetic Magician in the Graveyard...

So now I have a Cybernetic Magician and 4 Sheep Tokens on the field. I turn one of my Sheep Tokens into Attack Mode. My opponent gave me a strange look - as if to say "What're you doing? You giving up?" Next, I discard one of the two cards in my hand for Cybernetic Magician's effect to turn the ATK of one of my Sheep Tokens to 2000. I then play the last card in my hand - United We Stand...

So, now I have a Sheep Token with 6000 ATK - thanks to the 2000 ATK from Cybernetic Magician and the 4000 ATK bonus of United We Stand (5 monsters out). I enter my Battle Phase and ram the Sheep Token into Obelisk the Tormentor - destroying it and dealing 2000 damage to my opponent. The look on his face was priceless. He shouted "How in the world did you take out Obelisk the Tormentor?"

From that day forward, the incident has been heraled as the Legend of Ubergoat - the Sheep Token that took down Obelisk the Tormentor.

In WC10...

My opponent has me trapped for several turns with Sanctuary in the Sky, The Fool, and Marshmallon.

I have 2 Machina Fortresses, and 3 other monsters out, one is either Gearframe or Peacekeeper equipped to a Fortress.

I summon Yellow Gadget, then chain Torrential to it, destroying all monsters but the Union-equipped Fortress.

Then, I play Heavy Storm to destroy the opponent's Mirror Force and Sanc.

I revive the other Fortress.

Swing for game.

EDIT: On DMG, against a Skiel deck...

I summoned Rose. My opponent pointed out what happens if I synchro while the anime Skiel is out.

I trib it for Turret Warrior, then Trib another monster for another Turret, then play 2 Solidarities, bumping them up to 4000+ ATK. Opponent and his friends are shocked.

I swing like crazy for a couple turns to destroy anime Skiel. Opponent chains destruction to SS IRL Skiel. Next turn, destroy real-life Skiel for game.

How about a series of amazing plays that I didn't even make.

"Both of these well-renowned duelists had a chance at making Top 16, albeit Hayton’s tiebreakers were far better than Levitin’s. “He’s fortieth and he’s still gonna play!” Hayton complained. Levitin wasn’t giving up any chance he had at making Day 2, even if his odds were slim.

Hayton opened with one set spell or trap, and Levitin fired back with a set card to each zone. Nobleman of Crossout removed his Gravekeeper’s Spy from play, plus two more from his deck. Hayton set a monster, then two cards to his back row and Levitin was up.

Levitin summoned Protector of the Sanctuary, a rather unexpected play. “There are so many other plays than that, but I want to make this one in the feature match.” He grinned.

Hayton smiled “Are you going to attack my Morphing Jar?” He phrased the question in a goofy voice, and Levitin laughed, believing Hayton was joking.

Then he attacked, and Hayton sheepishly flipped his Morphing Jar. Holy crap.

Kris Perovic immediately whipped out cell phone from the sidelines. “I’ve gotta call Anthony Alvarado. There’s no way he’s gonna believe this.” Morphing Jar flipped, Levitin got a new hand, and Hayton discarded his for nothing in return because of Protector’s effect. It was the biggest beating of all time, and it was about to get worse.

Armed with a ton of cards, Levitin activated Premature Burial for Card Trooper, set a back row card, and ended. Hayton passed, and Levitin set a monster before attacking with both Trooper and Protector.

Hayton summoned Card Trooper himself, and then activated Brain Control to take one of Hayton’s Troopers. He pumped them both, attacked the Protector, and Levitin responded with Crush Card Virus, tributing his set Night Assailant! It destroyed both Troopers, and Hayton couldn’t draw because of Protector! Hayton was forced to reveal his last card: a useless Pot of Avarice, pinned down by the Protector. He looked dizzy.

“WHAT’S HAPPENING?!” screamed Hayton.

Protector attacked directly, and Hayton attacked it next turn with Cyber Phoenix, determined to get the darn thing off the field. Levitin responded with Book of Moon on the Protector, but Hayton had had enough: he activated Limiter Removal to boost his Phoenix’s ATK, high enough to destroy the Protector. It was small consolation.

Levitin passed, and Hayton lost his Cyber Dragon to Crush Card Virus. He attacked with Sangan, Levitin set a monster, and Hayton turned Sangan to defense. He set a monster, Levitin set a spell or trap, and play was to Hayton.

He flip summoned Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive. “Chain Call for Protector?”

“I’m thinkin’ about it.” Levitin grinned.

“Oh shut up!” Levitin had Call set, but let it go. Dekoichi attacked into Legendary Jujitsu Master and bounced to the top of Hayton’s deck. Hayton set a card to each zone and activated Trap Dustshoot the next turn: Levitin revealed six cards, none of which were monsters. Hayton heaved a sigh; nothing was going his way, and the match just continued to grow more embarrassing with each passing minute.

Jujitsu Master went to attack position and wiped out the Sangan, sending Hayton to his deck to search out Cyber Phoenix. Call of the Haunted brought back Protector of the Sanctuary, but it attacked into Hayton’s set copy of The Light – Hex-Sealed Fusion. Levitin ended.

Hayton summoned Cyber Phoenix and special summoned Cyber Dragon from his graveyard with Call of the Haunted. He tributed Cyber Dragon and The Light for Cyber Twin Dragon, and promptly ran both his monsters into Mirror Force. Jujitsu Master and Protector attacked to drop Hayton to 1100 damage, and when Hayton drew he revealed his last two cards:

. . . Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive and Morphing Jar. Again. With Protector out, that was a scoop.

“I need to do some aggressive side decking!” announced Hayton in a loud voice. He picked up his side deck and looked through them: “Nothing in here helps!” He pondered briefly. “I’ll side in Prickle Fairy; Chris Moosman told me it was a good idea.”

Play began swiftly, and Hayton set one spell or trap to begin. Levitin pinged him with Sangan, then set a spell or trap card. Hayton summoned Cyber Dragon, attacked Sangan, and Levitin pulled Protector of the Sanctuary from his deck!

Levitin set a monster and Hayton passed. Levitin set a spell or trap, Hayton drew for his turn, and Levitin activated Trap Dustshoot: it revealed that Hayton had drawn Morphing Jar again. He lost The Light – Hex-Sealed Fusion to his deck, and then sent Cyber Phoenix to attack, thinking Levitin had set Protector of the Sanctuary.

“Let’s shed some light on this Protec-“ the monster he attacked flipped, and turned out to be Gravekeeper’s Spy. “What the hell?” Levitin special summoned Gravekeeper’s Guard in defense and Hayton set Trap Dustshoot, which he used next turn to send Protector back to Levitin’s deck. I’ve never seen an entire match revolve around Protector of the Sanctuary before.

Levitin activated Heavy Storm, summoned Spirit Reaper, set two cards to his back row, and attacked: after some lightning-fast battle he was left with Gravekeeper’s Guard and Spirit Reaper, and both duelists had new hands, courtesy of Hayton’s Morphing Jar. He summoned Card Trooper and used Machine Duplication to bring one more from his deck. He pumped both to 1900 ATK, attacked over Levitin’s Guard, then his Reaper, and ended.

Levitin topdecked into Protector of the Sanctuary again! He summoned it, then activated Call of the Haunted to bring back Sangan! Sangan and Protector each destroyed a Trooper, and Spirit Reaper forced Hayton to discard The Light – Hex-Sealed Fusion. Hayton took the Protector on the following turn with Snatch Steal, attacked Spirit Reaper with it, then set a monster.

But Levitin tributed his Sangan for Mobius the Frost Monarch, destroying Snatch Steal and taking back his Protector of the Sanctuary! “Is your last set card there Dekoichi?” asked Levitin with a smirk.

Hayton hung his head, and flipped his Dekoichi. It was all over. I’ve never seen such a thorough embarrassment in my three and a half years of duel coverage.

But Levitin came to his senses and realized his fortieth place standing wasn’t likely to bring him to Day 2. After smiting Hayton so viciously he took pity on him, and offered to concede the duel.

After suffering the most vicious defeat of all time, Andrew Hayton may be headed to Day 2 for his first time ever!"

I was playing against Lucciano (Lester for you dubbies) and Ruka (Luna for you dubbies) in Tag Force 5. My partner was Rua. I was using my Cyber Dragon deck and Rua was using his Deformers (Morphtronics).

Well, Rua went first and just set a monster - nothing special. Then came Lucciano's turn. He plays Skiel Core face-up and puts a card face-down. When it comes my turn, Lucciano activated his face-down card - which was Twin Vortex. He destroyed his Skiel Core and Rua's face-down monster (Morphtronic Videon). Lucciano got out all his lovely Machine Emperor cards out. Now, I busted out laughing when I saw this - since it wasn't even my Main Phase yet and I noticed two cards in my hand:

Cyber Dragon
Limiter Removal

As soon as I got control, I Special Summoned the Cyber Dragon. Once that happened, I proceeded to send my Cyber Dragon and all his Machine Emperor monsters to the Graveyard to summon a Chimeratech Fortress Dragon with 6000 ATK. I entered the Battle Phase, declared a direct attack, and activated Limiter Removal.

Lucciano got a 12,000 ATK direct attack!!!

First turn of the game (this was last format, BTW):

Celfon + Dupe
First Celfon nets me Scopen, so I use it to play Boomboxen from my hand and summon Stardust.
Second Celfon pulls out another Scopen, so I use it to summon the other Boomboxen in my hand and Summon Thought Ruler.
Third Celfon gets nothing, so I use Junk Box to revive Scopen in Defense and summon Magical Android.
I set Bottomless, end my turn and gain 1200. Opponent enters the scoop phase, entire tournament goes "O.o".

Every other amazing move I have ever done was a series of convoluted and specific combos that were too long for me to even remember them 10 minutes after I did them.

I dont remember the exact play by play, but the duel was horrendously in my opponent's favor, as the Infernity varient I had been using had been unable to get any Synchros but my single copy of Armory Arm out, as the only monsters had been Necromancer, Mirage, and Avenger. I had four facedowns (Solemn Judgment, Infernity Barrier, Return from the Different Dimension, and Trap Stun).

LP: 100
Opponent LP: somewhere around 5700

I drew (Infernity Avenger) and Summoned it, activating Return from the Different Dimension (LP: 50) for my Mirage (removed by Infernity Break). Opponent used Torrential, but I used Trap Stun, as I didn't need Traps any more that turn, and he still had 2 f/d.

I tuned Avenger with Mirage for Formula Synchron, and drew a card with its effect, drawing Infernity Archfiend. The exact turn of events I don't fully remember, but I ended up with One Hundred Eyes Dragon, Shooting Star Dragon, and Infernity Archfiend, with my facedowns being Solemn Judgment, 2(?) Infernity Barrier, and one Infernity Break, sitting on a mere 50 LP.

Needless to say, I won.

Well this play isn't really amazing, but it is amusing. I was on WC09 (because I haven't been able to action replay my WC10 yet), using my lolYugi deck. I didn't have any monsters, and I don't remember which s/t's. I had a Buster Blader in my hand. I specifically thought "Hey, it would be cool if I drew Card Destruction, and drew Monster Reborn with it to summon Blader." Guess what happened next turn.

@Legend Zero

That happened to me too. Only is was my opponent with Exodia.

Happened a couple years ago. This was right before Lightsworns came out.

Me- sets Draining Shield, Magic Cylinder, and MST, and summons Gagagigo.
Opponent- plays Power Bond and Special Summons Cyber Twin Dragon and attacks.
I activate Draining Shield and 5600 LP, he attacks the second time and I activate Magic Cylinder dealing 5600 damage to him. He takes 2800 damage from Power Bond.
I win.

I recently played Volcanics, which I had no previous knowledge of. I have a Rai-Oh, Silent Swordsman LV5(shut up silent swordsman are cool) that would turn into the spell negating LV7 next turn, and a set Decree and Solemn Judgment. My opponent has Blaze Accelerator and Solidarity out with no monsters. He happens to draw Volcanic Scattershot and Raigeki's my whole field. Really pissed my off :(
