Too happy? There isn't such a thing as too happy. Don't be a dick to people having a good time just because misery enjoys company.

Happiness is the emotion we should all strive to obtain and maintain. If you're living without happiness then your life is not worth sustaining. It isn't happiness that blocks people from the truth, but bliss. Bliss often comes along with happiness, but the two aren't eternally linked. To say the most critical emotion for a person to have is a hinderance is stupid.

ex. of too happy: lone butcher has a fun happy time cutting beef and pork. The part that was best and made the butcher most happy was chopping the meat but one day the butcher got bored and decided to chop up people instead which made him much happier....

Wow.... Everyone must love you TC. It's always great to spread happiness when needed.

I often always try to reassure people that things will be fine, it helps them to relax and even cheer up. Hugs are always a great way to help people cheer up as well.

The world would be so cold without happiness.

But the world would be so boring with just happiness.

Life needs a mix between good or bad. Dark cannot exist without light, and light cannot exist without dark and whatnot.

Great topic.
Happiness is relative.
Everybody is happy when they're doing what they like and are comfortable with themselves.
I don't like hapiness, I hate people talking and laughing and cheering, its all fake !
The world is made of despair and darkness. Happiness is a lie, an illusion, a distraction.
It blocks people, so they don't see the truth.

This is absolutely untrue.

Happiness isn't an illusion, it's gratitude and/or a desire being satisfied. It's not happiness that blocks people from seeing the truth, it's rejection of truth. People hate the truth and couldn't be happy if it was always there, watching their backs. But in some cases, that isn't how people feel. People can be happy with the truth. Seeing a family member that's been lost for years return wouldn't have a secret, negative spirit. Likely, you're just trying to be more cynical than you actually are.

It's not him being happy that was a problem, though.

One thing I don't get: why some of the people in this thread want to be sad? What's so great about it?
Because some people might get more satisfaction out of it. Satisfaction in life encompasses both happiness and sadness, and is more important than either.

on the lighter note makes people look like a "bad ass rebel" which you know is lame but let their egos slide...

Satisfaction is consistent with happiness. Sadness you gain satisfaction from is a deluded form of happiness.
