TEACHERS PACKING HEAT!?

There are some kids I would love to see shot, and one of my math teachers wouldn't hesitate to shoot this one kid. Everyone in the class would fabricate a lie to make it the kid's fault so the teacher wouldn't get in trouble, too.

But, yeah, in all seriousness, it sounds like a bad idea. Probably because of stuff like what I just said. ^.^

And if a shooter comes to school, you best hide yo kids, hide yo- *gets shot*

I wouldn't mind if teachers were given access to a key that opened some sort of box with a gun in it.

Not a bad idea, and possilbly set off some alarm when the box is opened.

Problem is the box would have to be in every classroom (or a majority of them) for it to be effective, since you never know when an alien (retards will interpret "alien" in the incorrect way) person will come, nor where.

The box thing could work just give each teacher a mental exam to see who is the most sane then test out of those who has the best shot with a gun... it would be a long process.

mental exams don't work. "It's always the quiet ones". If they weren't sane they wouldn't be a teacher(by school standards). So if they are sane enough to be employed they're sane enough to pass the mental exam.

The box thing can also be counter productive not only for the obvious "The teacher has access to the gun and he might snap." What if a student manage to get the key from him? I believe schools and police stations should simply be build in near proximity. Of course there isn't always possible so which is why all schools should have stationed police officers no matter how safe you think it is. (Also there are schools that already follow this *thumbs up* by me personally)

In an emergency in which you need to react fast, you'd be dead before you could open that box in time.

Also, I'm sure the gunman inside the school would just loooove a nice little alarm telling them who has the gun.

Rarely does an intruder reach a room before their presence is determined. There are situations were it wouldn't be effective, but the idea as a whole is obviously beneficial.

The alarm suggestion isn't mine, but your reason against it is rather debunk.

the problem I have with the box is not the intruder (since like you said. Even if the intruder gets shot off or manages to get to a classrooms. There are other classrooms away from him which the teacher can access the box, and most intruders(are assumed) insane and if a gun is pointed at them they usually freak and try to escape.)

The problem is the teacher itself and student. Even if you give a teacher gun practice. No teacher should be with a gun or access to a gun. We do not know when said teacher is liable to just snap or maybe a student will manage to confiscate the key or the teacher misplaces the key and than problems may arise.

The only people that should have gun access in school is trained police officials. Maybe the box can be filled with other useful equipment such as tasers, bullet-proof vests, maybe the box is situated in a bomb-shelter like room.

Actually that would also be a good idea, rooms with emergency bomb-shelter closets which the teachers have access too and cannot be opened from outside except with that key.
