I wouldn't say it's a good idea to force teachers to carry guns. If a teacher wants one, and wants to bring it to class, assuming they've gone through all the background checks I don't see why they shouldn't be able to. Second Amendment and all.

I do, but I'm Canadian and can't even fathom the second amendment's purpose -or its vehement support- so that's to be expected.

As far as the current topic goes, however, I'm of the opinion that having more guns in an area makes violence with guns more likely rather than less. Face it, if there's a crazy gunman in a school, the guy's going to be adept with the thing and have adrenalin skyrocketing through the roof, a math teacher with a handgun is not going to be much of an obstacle to them, especially since said teacher likely doesn't have their weapon immediately available to them or proper training using it.

I'm not so hot on the 2nd amendment. Lots of 1st world countries seem to be perfectly fine without it.

No one in the right mind should be "hot" on the Second Amendment. Giving everything single citizen the right to be in possession of a lethal weapon is sheer lunacy.

Honestly nobody would have to carry a Gun if these stupid kids who are raised by dumb-ass parents would just stop trying to be "hard".
It doesnt matter if you search the students or any vistitor that comes into the school because they somehow manage to sneak them in through the window's
and other means, ontop of the fact that people in general tend to feel that they have to be "hard" because they are scared so they try to scare back those who are scaring them.(thats how alot of ppl end up badly)

As for the whole idea of guns being permited is ludacris,Tthere is no need, We need to have a class in the schools of how to deal with the problems,
Some schools like Pershing High School have heavy Police activity but still there is school shootings and knife fights.

I belive some students need to be shoot and end alot of the problems in the schools but then again some teachers dont need to be teaching either,
As far as the 2nd ammendment goes, I belive there is an over use of that as a excuse for why people kill using a Gun,
Alot of GOOD people who deserve and would use A Gun properly arnt able to get a gun while all these BAD people are able to get a Gun, WTF?!
ya know, Despite all that I belive certen teachers should beable to have a Gun.

[s]I thought the second ammendment just said you had a right to hang bear arms from your wall[/s]

In all seriousness, I think I know of a teacher... who would really like to shoot this kid... who nobody likes... so yeah, not a good idea

I'm going to write some names and this piece of paper. And then you're going to KILL ALL OF THEM!!

This can't really work. Almost all teachers aren't going to have training for firearms. They would then have to have training. Then there would be teachers who objected etc. That would mean either half of these teachers wouldn't have a gun in the first place, or would no longer be considered "qualified" to teach. And we have NO shortage of teachers...
