evilfusion Posted January 27, 2011 Report Share Posted January 27, 2011 The Polar Gods are fun, but that article overhypes them WAAAAYY too much. For one, it acts like destruction doesn't work, when it at the very least is a temporary removal so you can swing for damage, and the fact the Polar Gods require specific Tuners to be in the Graveyard to resurrect means spamming destruction is just as effective as anything else. The only Polar Star monsters you'll likely use are the Beasts and Vanadis, since those have synergy with one another and are built more or less to bring out level 10 Synchros with little stress. Vanadis can serve for any Tuner for a Polar God Synchro, so you have no need to use Polar Star Angel Valkyrie unless you're desperate for a Turn 1 Odin. I dont like that Tuner anyway, because while it's an easy Odin, you have to RFG two Polar Star monsters from your hand when you control no cards when you Normal Summon it. Loki will probably never be played, since the Star Spirits/Alfar are meh at best, and with Vanadis, you can bring out Thor or Odin instead. Vanadis is a Polar Star Angel, so Odin can use it for revival. These cards were nerfed to oblivion where the anime versions were broken. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Your opponent could have something like a facedown Mirror Force and a faceup Gravity Bind, and Odin will just attack fearlessly anyway. I think Odin should have kept more of its anime effect and protected ALL the Polar Gods from Spells and Traps, not just itself, especially considering its effect isn't Continuous. It's an Ignition Effect, so Bottomless Trap Hole can still kill it, even if you call priority. Thor should have kept its "steal the negated effect", even if it was worded like Savior Star to make it work. Loki is fine. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

[/quote] At least the should realease the game either at the beginning of March or September format that way we get to play with cards some months before the B&list...XD It also allows some extra Stuff to make it into the Game... [/quote] You have to run a different deck for each one. Nordic Beasts for thor Nordic Alfar for Loki Nordic Ascendant for Odin. They arn't that hard to get out in thier decks.
