- Which one do you prefer over the other, why and why not
- Your opinion on the cards on their own
- Decks you Side Deck / Main Them in

Two of my favorite cards. There effects are da bomb. Chaos Stun is da bomb. Getting one of each on the field is pure rape over your opponent, for me that is. Sure Doomcaliber can backfire, but normally it backfires on one of my LIGHT monsters, which leads to me having just what I need in the Grave to get out Chaos Sorcerer. Thinking of some odd, really odd Chaos Rock Stun Variant with both of them. Probably going to fail though. There stats, epic art, and bad-ass-ish names is just icing on the cake.

inb4 Thunder King Thunder King

Doomcal does better against Book. Both are good in various situations. Rai-Oh is great when your opponent forgets it stops Duality. It REALLY depends on the format and the Deck, but if I had to assign arbitrary 'better' condition to one, it'd probably be Rai-Oh.

Also, Doomcal should still be called SKULL DISCOVERY KNIGHT like in WC06. Oh WC06<3

Both are used in some versions of [acronym='60 Card Themeless Highlander]60CTH[/acronym]

Doomcal is amazing but it has its counters. Rai-Oh is a bit more of a headache for the opponent to deal with. I've played both so much the last year. They are both just incredible if you already have a nice monster on the field. Doomcaliber + Dark Gaia is fun, and Thunder King + Silent Swordsman LV5 or LV7(yeah that's right what!) is great. I feel so biased when saying this, but they are easily some of the best Level 4 monsters outside of an archetype.

I prefer Rai-Oh, simply because Doomcalibur is a mandatory effect, so it'll kill itself a lot, and even if for a worthy cause, I like having the option.

True, Doomcaliber Knight would be much more better if it was an 'You can' effect. It's pretty awesome stats though for a Level 4 somewhat balances that out though, for me that is.

I disagree on the stats helping it out. The 1900/1800 stats are wasted because all you have to do is activate a monster effect or force one of your opponent's monster effects to activate, and it'll kill itself, possibly even backfiring on its master's own cards to add insult to injury. It hinders both players, which I suppose is the balancing factor, alongside its inability to be Special Summoned. Thunder King also prevents its owner from adding cards to the hand, but that's a lot less crippling than losing a monster if you dare activate a monster effect.

Doomcaliber was better until Formula Synchron was released and Frog variants started seeing more play. <_<

This.

OT: Both have different effects but an unique concept: [s]troll[/s] annoy your opponent. I prefer Rai-Oh because he is Light but Doomcaliber wins hands down in term of stats and art!

Manjoume Thunder: I summon Doomcaliber Knight.

Me: I discard effect veiler.

.....

Manjoume Thunder: *offers handshake*

King has always outclassed Doom and always will.
[/quote]

Result: Doomcaliber tributes itself to negate Effect Veiler.

I guess if you don't have any better ways of dealing with DCK o.x;

Discarding to kill a monster on your opponent's turn is a pretty good play.
