Icy
Normally you know me. I'm fully self-sufficient in coming up with idea's to get the board active. Whether it was the Worldwide Duel, the Excess Tournament (which was a raging success; thank you everyone who was involved), or the most recent Your.DEK Brawl which failed due to conflicting Schedules. However, this time I can not come up with one on my own due to various real life conflicts and binds elsewhere. It has been well over a month since the Your.DEK Brawl had to be closed with no full alternative due to many things. So I want to ask you all; What kind of Event would you like to see CC have? There is no terrible opinions or bad suggestions. I want to hear them all. We will take each one with equal sincerity. And even if your suggestion is not accepted the first time, we might just organize it for the next time. (As a small requirement though, the person who gets their idea submitted must organize it and maintain it with only a little interference from me; like stickying threads etc all me the rest is your dedication). The overall idea is to have one new forum wide event each month. So get those thinking caps on and start suggesting and planning. I wanna hear everything. -Griffin
I want to see a goddamn CCG, but I think we'd have to get a good coder in since I feel most of RC wouldn't bother to download anything, so we'd need a broswer-based one. And that isn't going to happen.

Smesh
Hmm. -RC discusses and creates an archetype, and the event would be to make cards for that archetype. -A large fully functional contest that has members pitted against each other in 1v1s. -A large member card making event. -Members make a thread with 1 RC card, 1 PC card, 1 AoC card, and 1 WC card and get judged on how good they do. Prizes? Not really the best ideas. Just off of the top of my head.

Glоrious
Did you try online dueling w/ custom cards or real cards? Get a number of people to post past cards/boosters/sets/etc. links that can be used for the tournament. Pick out a number of judges. Judges will pick out cards from the links and add them to a list and will make a banlist from it & can also edit or add rulings to cards. Each participant will make a deck consisting of a specific number of cards (40) and can use cards from sets listed. Each duel will have a judge and 2 players. The judge will be assigned for any random action (draw/toss coin/ etc.) and actually judging to make sure participants follow the rules of YCM and actual YGO TCG. The matches will be done by PMs and later posted in a thread in a spoiler// Or make a new forum specifically for dueling and all dueling will happen there. Judges will keep track of winners. Each time a person wins, they get a point or something, or when they lose, lose a point. A specified date will be made clear so that after the due date, all duels halt and top players with most points go to final duels. Just a thought, can be modified, since I just thought of it. Anbu-of-Sand
I may edit this post overtime, but for now, I have a few suggestions on how to perhaps make Custom Cards / Realistic Cards, I guess you can say more 'active / fun'. One thing that came to mind is I believe quite some time ago, you started a thread that where you would do something like, paste a card of someone's that you really liked onto the thread, along with a picture of the card, the link and the username of the person's thread, along with an explanation why you liked it. Not really an event, but in my opinion, it was something that made Realistic Cards slightly more, I guess you can say entertaining. That's all for now I guess. Sorry that it isn't really an 'event'. Oh, and although this won't really help you that much, I'd like to see some events that didn't involve downloading stuff like YVD, a CCG of any sorts, etc., just so the people who aren't able to won't feel left out. I'd also like to see less 'competitive' events, and more events that are just for fun and whatnot.

Without an actual program to run it, I don't think we'll be getting dueling to happen, and annoyingly RC has some download-a-phobia.
I may edit this post overtime, but for now, I have a few suggestions on how to perhaps make Custom Cards / Realistic Cards, I guess you can say more 'active / fun'.
But, but, why not for the other Sub-Forums in Custom Cards as well D: Well, I can see this not really working for AoC and Card Contests, but why not RC and PC as well? Oh, and edited previous post with a little something else that may be helpful. Oh, another idea that may not really help: Not trying to put down any previous events, but we need more events that make people to be more active in Custom Cards / Realistic Cards. Sure RC gets quite the amount of threads per day, but that's usually from the same 20 or so people, with the rest new members that hardly ever get reviews due to most of the time not knowing much about the actual TCG / card making. Even with HTML5, Unity, Flash and all that being browser based. And to be fair, I thought about bringing back those kind of threads but I'm still skeptical about it due to personal beliefs. You might just see it later on or maybe sometime soon. However it will not be considered part of this threads event suggestions. @Griffin: If that's the case, then I'd add one for each section at least to an extent. -Griffin
YVD's a dueling program, you can't really cheat on it. Judges would have to magically tell if the other player is truly drawing randomly. How is it possible to tell if they got lucky and drew one of the few cards they needed, or just PM'd "Yup, drew it." If we have to start controlling their Deck and PMing them every time they draw, then we'd need MSN or something, which would no doubt stop a lot of people because they refuse to get MSN.
It works like this: The judge uses a program like this: http://www.random.org/integers/ Each card in a Deck will have a specific number (from 1-40 in 40 card deck). The numbers will represent cards drawn. The players are supervised by the judges (in 3-person PM). So there can be no cheating, since all the random stuff is done by the judge using a random-number program.

Anbu-of-Sand
Just thought of something, not sure if it would be considered an event or not, but I'll call it an event anyways. How about an event that is specifically just for the new members of YCM? That being Members who are Level 3 and under and whatnot. Perhaps where New Members would pit their cards against each other, and judges would be long time members who have been hanging around Custom Cards for quite some time. It's a possible great way to get to know new members, improve their cards, possibly make a name out of themselves (not saying they wouldn't in the first place), and is much more 'fun' then new members just posting a card, and getting almost no (constructive) replies.
