^I dislike that idea. New members aren't really keen to joining big events.

Clearly it'd be shifted to a more friendly approach like. "Say hi to Custom Cards here and post your favorite card you've made"; something to that extent just a little less generic sounding. Nothing on a competition level. But something everyone can look at and give a nice opinion etc.

But it'll be a noob-fest. Not a very lively and fun tournament.

Again you miss the context. I mentioned announcement specifically because it'd be outside a community wide event. And "noob" would be incorrect, it'd be "new member".

85% of people joining are usually from Written, one of the quietest sections, because they're interested in actually playing and aren't download-a-phobic. Just saying.

Really? That's odd. TO be honest, I'd start making my cards and whatnot in Written, but I love Realistic Cards, and I don't get the same appeal then I would from an actual generated card rather than some text and whatnot. Maybe if I was good at descriptions, that way I could give the reviewer if I did ever start going in Written Cards and idea of what the card would look like, just to make it slightly more 'appealing'. I also do so apologize about this somewhat off-topic post.

Alright. Let's go with it. I'm a lv3. Would love to join. Or can I be judge?

The playerbase wasn't active. People barely dueled.

I got plenty of reports tbh, plenty. But they seldom gave the duel logs required.

well im quite peaked but i would like to see some kind of new subtype thinge

(first spirits gemmi sychros dark sychros exceed)

well if everone was put to the test and come up with the new ideas for subtypes should be interesting at least

i think it would bring the best out of everone making them think more being more creative than usaul when they make cards but that just me

Dark Synchro brawl? Make balanced Dark Tuners+Dark Synchros or something?
IDK, that's my suggestion. It probably sux, but I think it'd be interesting.
I like Anbu's suggestion, it seems pretty neat.

I like this too.Why we cannot make D-Synchros?

I know this would probably be a bad suggestion but maybe a member card brawl ? They have to make cards based on themselves or other members. Judging OCG, relevance with chosen member, image, creativity and how well it would do in the current Meta.

Member cards are by default only allowed in AoC. And only by genuine giving. Not anything else. It would be no different than holding a large scale contest again. I want... a unique thing.

I would say to be careful with points and rankings - when people find out that they're trying hard and end up at the bottom, they will leave. If they find that it's too confusing, or the goal is too hard and not quick to get, then they will leave. A universal goal is somewhat fine, but try to make simpler, easier goals along the way, but try not to make it so that people end up being dead last and leaving because they've no chance to get to the top.

I can't give you any suggestions, but a good game gives many chances to recover from loss, has a quick goal to obtain, and isn't too confusing or difficult. I do hope I helped.

The best I can think of is a Monopoly-styled quick game, though the ideas are still jumbling in my head.

I thought about the Subtype thing Jude. But in all honesty, so few cardmakers can actually create a functioning Subtype that wouldnt just be better off as an Archetype Rule. To do so on the level you imply, I'd have to split people up in teams and it'd be a large scale mess if done wrong.
