I needed to qualify today, as i had been at ptf etc i had neglected my beloved locals, and the final was the next week, so no 2nd chances lol. I arrived at Comic Culture at about ten to eleven, so i quickly signed up and prepared for round one: Round One. Me (Toolbox) VS Connal -Insert Last Name Here- (CB Abunance Rush) Game 1: I open with sangan face down and bottomless. He plays MST, summons peg, plays loads of spells including 3 ruins, fills his field, special summons ruby and attacks through for 7400 damage. I look at my topdeck (Mole) and scoop. Game 2: I beat him down in the priliminary turns, with raizas, hydros etc. I have storm in hand and he has a fd and tiger, so i obv don't storm. Next turn he pulls off all the same sheet, shows me abundance and i offer him the handshake. If i would have stormed, i could have won. Not good so far, =[. 0-1 Round Two. Me (Toolbox) VS Mykel -Insert Last Name Here- (This guy is obsessed with dragons) Game One. He sets 4 S/T's, i play heavy storm and summon lots of monsters (Assailant, Warrior Lady) He Scoops when i summon IFL. Game Two. He sets a F/d and ends. I summon cyber and exiled. And hit for 2100 damage. He sets again and ends.I trib for raiza, prem cyber and attack direct again. He looks at his topdeck and scoops. 1-1. Round Three. Me (Toolbox) VS Darren Sharpe (Horus-Lock) Game One. He sets 2 s/t's and a monster. I storm, summon cyber and attack his magician of faith with no targets. XD I set rat, and sakuretsu and end. He summons horus Lv 4, and attacks cyber, which i promptly sak. I flip rat, summon assailant and hit with all to leave him on 1500. He sets a monster and ends. He reeked of marshmallon or reaper, so i decided i had to summon mole. tongue.gif Game 2. He sets a monster. I cyber, raiza. He sets the same monster next turn. I mole. He resets with 3200 left. I raiza Again. He forgets i have mole. I summon it, equip it with united we stand, attack his face down (Morphing jar btw lol) And attack with mole for game! 2-1 Round Four. Me (Toolbox) VS Micahel Wilkinson (LaDD) Good player, awesome dude ,we both needed the win in order to guarantee top8 place. Game 1. He summons stratos and sets a s/t. I MST, summon cyber and sangan, and deal 1300 damage. He vortex's, discarding disk, giving me the search for marshmallon. He summons breaker and hits for 1900. I play smash, summon rat and hit for 1400, i set bottomless and controller. He sets what i suspect is marshmallon, so i use my freshly topdecked exiled to kill it. (Turned out to be reaper). I Hit with rat, buit he phoenix blasts it, discarding frog. He brings frog, and tribs for thestalos, killing my in-hand raiza. I Topdeck mole, but set marshmallon. He hits it, leaving him on 1200. I set 1 monster and end. He plays 2 Destiny Draws, discarding monger and malicious. He summons the dragon and he takes from there. Game 2. Kinda similar to the last game tbh. He attacks rat late in the game, i show him lily (He was on 200) and he scoops. Game 3. Pretty similar to the other 2, it was effectively a battle of better topdecks towards the end. He got vortex. ¬¬ From there it was basically death. Got him down to 700 though. tongue.gif At the end of that i was 2-2. Not great, but the 2 who beat me both went 3-1 and 4-0, so i had nice tiebreakers. Turned out i came 5th. Top8. Me (Toolbox) VS Micahel Aillud (Macro) Game1. I can't really explain, he made ALOT of misplays. (Like attacking survivor into cyber with royal decree (His) and trying to chain with cosmos XD) Game2. I side into kinetics and dusts. Lots of horrid misplays on his part again. Kinetic + Raiza basically kill him. Top4. Me (Toolbox) VS Darren Sharpe (Horus Lock) Game1&2. Very similar pattern to before, and i discover he is not running sangan. XD He cannot beat my mole. tongue.gif He basically loses all his resources early, and relys on topdecking, which when i have mole and massive advantage is not great. Haha. To the Final! Top2. Me (Toolbox) VS Micahel Wilkinson (LaDD) We both had not qualified yet, so now we were through, and didn't really care who won, it was only 1 pack difference in the prizes. We went to lunch first though, as we were very hungry. XD When we got back we played! Game1: He summons stratos, searches disk and ends. I start with my usual aggro self tongue.gif, cyber and mole. 2100 damage. He vortex's, sets a monster and ends. HYDRO! He gets back vortex with MoF. 1600 damage. I set BoM, and bottomless. He summons Breaker, And i bottomless it. He vortex's, sets a f/d in each zone and ends. I set Rat, and sakuretsu. He MST's in the end phase, brings frog back, tribs for raiza on rat. Bad. He renews raiza twice and i am left with no options. Game2: Same sort pattern, except i won. tongue.gif Rugs, Forced Backs, Banishers And Crows. tongue.gif Game3: Very memorable. We were both on 1000 life, and topdecking, i set magician of faith. He tops prem, revives disk, draws malicious and draw, uses, and hits me with his weenies for game. Jammy Bastard! So, 2nd, not bad for a shitty toolbox lol. Pros: Qualifying, when i didn't know what deck i was using until round one.Burger King Tastes Nice!Finally getting a card trooper!Good day overall. Pros: I beat HORUS in the second round in a 2/3. I also beat some guy running a Spellcaster deck in 3 turns. Cons: Well, I got crushed in the semi-finals.
