Players have priority in all situations, the change is just to say that when you summon a monster you can't activate a monster's ignition effect in response to the summon which doesn't make sense anyway. There's no such thing as trigger speed... just Quick Effects. Priority isn't changing, just one kind of effect activation. If I summon a guy I still have priority to Solemn or Torrential it before my opponent has a chance to activate anything, and if I choose not to torrential to see if my opponent will respond then I still can't use torrent afterwards. But in the situation you posted priority has no relevance. If I bottomless your Odin after you activate his effect as chain link 1 then it still hasn't resolved and will be destroyed by bottomless. I'll edit my post >> I haven't tried to use the Polar God's, but despite it being "harder" to summon Odin, I still think he's a powerful card to use.
