Kay, as we know Written Cards is by far the most intelligent (personal preference on fun etc) as the rest of the board. Well, I was wondering if ya'll would be willing to create a fully functioning Subtype that does not fall under the Archetype Rule System. The Purpose of this would be to show everyone how it works and how to form proper cards regarding it.

(Also: Later I will be creating a giant library of things; a single thread in RC that will not be comment-able on and one in WC that will be commented on and added to. Similar to how the Old Rules Thread did).

There isn't one, but I can create one, if necessary.

What I'm wondering about is what you mean by non-Archetypical subtypes. Even long-standing pre-existing ones, like Spirits and Toons have Archetype qualities.

Sure:
They are called Trigger monsters (Name could vary)
Trigger monster are like any other regular monster. Except they have Trigger where the Effect will be written (Just like any other Subtype)

Trigger monster can be Effect monsters but also can be Normal Monsters
There also could Be either Spells or Traps but that would be rare.

Being a Trigger grants all monsters of that type with this ruling:
* When a Trigger monster this drawn during the Draw Phase, you can reveal that card to your opponent.
* "[b]BURST:[/b]" While this card is on the field, when a Trigger monster is revealed during the Draw Phase, the effect under the BURST subclause will be activated.
* Monster that can be Bursted when you trigger a Trigger monster, especify in its card's Text how many time they can be Bursted. If there is no especification, there are no limits on the number of bursts it can have.

[b]Examples:[/b]

This is a Total Trigger monster (As in it has the Trigger Subtype, its own effect and also a Burst Effect)
[b]Bladeshoot Raider
EARTH/Level 4/Warrior-Trigger
ATK:1600/DEF:1300
Effect:[/b] When this card attacks a Defense Position monster with a lower DEF than this card's ATK, inflict the diference as battle Damage. BURST: This card's Original ATK becomes 1900, until the End Phase.

This one one has the Trigger Subtype but will not have an effect unless its BURST is unlocked.
[b]Cannonholder Beetle
FIRE/Level 3/Insect-Trigger
ATK/1200/DEF:800
Effect:[/b] BURST: Once per turn, you can have this card inflicts 300 Damage for each Trigger monster you control.

This one is a Simple Effect monster that happens to have a Burst effect.
[b]Launcher Riding Magician
LIGHT/Level 5/Spellcaster-Effect
ATK:2200/DEF:1300
Effect:[/b] Once per turn you can discard 1 Spell Card to destroy 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. BURST: During this turn, you can Normal Summon this card without tribute.

Flip Effect Monsters can also have the BURST clause.
[b]Future Seer
WIND/Level 2/Psychic-Effect
ATK:800/DEF:1100
Effect: [/b]FLIP: During your Next Draw Phase draw a card, then discard a card. BURST: If the effect of a "Future Seer" you control would make you discard 1 card, you can choose to not discard that card instead.

Other Case is this Synchro Monster which also
[b]Icicle Dragon
WATER/Level 7/Dragon-Synchro-Effect
ATK:2400/DEF:1800
Effect:[/b] 1 Tuner + 1 or more WATER non Tuner monsters
When this card declares an Attack, your opponent cannot activate Spells Or Trap cards until the End of the Damage Step. BURST: During this turn, if this card attacks, you can select 1 card your opponent controls and destroys it. (You can only use this card's BURST effect only twice while this card is face-up on the field.)

Last One...A normal Monster with the Trigger Subtype
[b]Space Warrior
DARK/Level 2/Reptile-Trigger
ATK:400/DEF:1800[/b]

Then write one. Usually though Subtypes in YGO follow Archetypical Rules, but can be shortened into Keywords rather than explaining it all. And I explained this to reply to Dae... A little... keywordy dont you think? xD

The BURST keyword was only made to have the Trigger based effect not to have such a difficult wording...But it is avodiable...XD

I had a sub-archetype long ago, called Force monsters. They were treated as Normal monsters, but when there was two or more Force monsters on the field all Force monsters would get that monsters effect. Like:

Hydrocannon Force Turtle
Reptile/Force/WATER/4 Stars
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field and you control 1 or more other Force monsters, this card and all other Force monsters you control are treated as Effect Monsters and gain the following effect:
● Once per turn, you can deal damage to your opponent equal to the Level of this card x100. This card cannot attack during the turn you activate this effect.
ATK/1400 DEF/2000

and

Magnetic Force Dragon
Dragon/Force/LIGHT/8 Stars
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field and you control 1 or more other Force monsters, this card and all other Force monsters you control are treated as Effect Monsters and gain the following effect:
● Once per turn, you can Tribute this card to take control of 1 face-up monster on your opponent's field until the End Phase. Your opponent can negate this effect by discarding 2 cards OR by paying 1000 life points.
ATK/2000 DEF/2000

Screw it, I'm just going to rip off Exalted from MTG because I'm too lazy to think of anything simpler:

If you control another monster besides "Fairy Veil", this card cannot be attacked. If a non-Support monster attacks, you can apply the following effect:
~The attacking monster cannot be destroyed by card effects during this battle. You cannot apply this effect if this card has attacked this turn.

If you control a non-Support monster, this card cannot be attacked. If a non-Support monster attacks, you can apply the following effect:
~Increase the ATK of the attacking monster by 900. You cannot apply this effect if this card has attacked this turn.

Is there a chance that this could be implemented into YVD somehow?
