Work Experience.

I've been working as a busser at a small restaurant for about a year and nine months now. It was pretty fun for a while, but these days it's monotonous. And dirty. And the clientele are kind of disgusting.

I've submitted an application to the company hosting my Minecraft server, and they've displayed an interest this far. It would be a raise, more hours, and no half-hour commute each way. :)

Many of you probably aren't old enough to be officially employed yet, but what kind of experience do you guys have? Horror stories? Success stories? I have soooo many.

Heyif you get a chance to move forward with your career do it.

I start a new job on Monday as a night porter in a 4-star hotel. Hopefully will be as awesome as I hoped, although the hours are going to be hard to get used to. Will severly cut YCM time for a bit.

Prior to that starting, I work for in a Conference Centre, setting up meeting rooms, banquet rooms, shows, etc, as well as various bar and waiting work. But when I turned 21 my hours went down dramatically as the owner is overly cutting back on expenditure. I do enjoy being there and it has taught me a lot, but recently it has been not as enjoyable. And I can't do what I don't enjoy.

Speaking of which, got to go now for my 3rd from final shift. Table laying for a ball that I will be a customer for. :)

Nothing, but horror stories for me.
Work Experience: Year 11, the place got broken into and there was barely enough for me to do with only one other person there let alone when another came back, so I left after 2 days, then my evil English teacher embarrassed me over it infront of my whole English Class
Work Experience: Year 14 (i stayed ages), they didn't even know what to do with me and stuck me on training things, then kept cutting back my hours when they had nothing for me to do still....another 3 day stint
Proper Work 2008, it was a nightmare Motor Claims, nothing you want to work in without a tough outer shell....

February is 22c cherry pie month at my work, and last Sunday was absolutely hilarious. This woman was waiting for her to-go order right when I came in, and she was severely pissed about something.

I was a little bit early and it was busy so I was trying to ask the manager if I could clock in and get started, but she was going OFF on him. She kept saying that the cherry pie deal brought out "the white trash of Tigard" and how she had been coming in for 35 years but after this never would again.

If it was the owner dealing with her, he would have just gotten her food for her and said goodbye, have a nice day. The manager (new guy) on the job actually asked her to forgive us or something... most pathetic thing I have ever seen. And he's ex-army. So hilarious.

Back in my last year of school, I did 2 week work experience working in a shop that sells clothes for winter. It was so boring. At least I had 2 weeks of school of.

Been unable to get a job since I left school. Too many other people applying.

My work experience?
I am also a busboy, it's a good job, I'm the youngest one there along with this senior, also a nice guy.
One thing I've noticed with restaurants is that everybody smokes.
Some horrific experiences?
I once was pouring water for a table, this man whips his arm back, the glass I'm holding is hit and splashes over this lady's back.
I've also dropped a glass...and glasses.
Some in public.
I once caught my whole tray of food I was taking away into my shirt, had to awkwardly hold it all back into the kitchen as the room stared.

I'm glad I have awesome bosses, I could have been fired by now otherwise @__@
But it's a good job, work every Saturday night and walk away with 80-90+ bucks.
Sucks that it slows down during summer though, where I come home with only 50-60 bucks.

Well lets see:
Friendly's: Just another hell disguised as a restaurant. A few great coworkers that makes working there a bit more easier but other than that, i just wanna smack some of our customers. They dont tip. THat bugs me. It doesnt matter if you are ordering to go, I am still serving you, show some appreciation. My general manager is a annoying douche. He doesnt know any of our names, he call us "bud"
"hey bud" ...
I get paid crap and dont get home till 1 am. ONe time I didnt leave till 3 am.
Yesterday was my last day. My best friend is also leaving. We were the only two fountains. LOL
