Wahrheit
Two weeks ago, gas was $3.15. Maybe. On the way home last night I saw it for 3.55, probably be 3.58 or more this morning. The conflict going on right now is great and all but there is absolutely no way that it's risen that much in such a short time. HAVE A LITTLE HEART MAN. I'm not even at all excited for summer, we all know what happens mid-July...

Masochistic Joker
Shouldn't have driven that plane through two towers and bought a house you couldn't afford. I say we use sea water which is completely illogical but we have had the same amount since the Ice Age.

Cin
Its not completely regarding the unrest in Libya, Libya is a small oil producer as is Bahrain. What's really pushing it up is fear that the unrest might spread to Saudi Arabia the largest exporter of the 12 OPEC countries (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries), if that happens the prices will shoot up. The UK are already discussing stopping the proposed fuel tax rise due in April of 1p (but may swing it up 5p), as well introducing a threshold at which tax will be reduced if prices raise too high. Our average is £1.30/$2.11 with the furtherest north playing £1.50/$2.

Cin
Previously I can't remember what year there was mass protests mainly by lorry drivers when the fuel got about £1.10 I believe it was, and with the recession also they're very mindfull about businesses going bust, having to pass the expense on to customers (like Thomas Cook has already) and further protests. I think its something like 2/3s of the UK price is VAT and Fuel Tax.
Wahrheit
I suppose you guys pay way more taxes than we do though, so less disposable income.

Dark
Boston isn't usually hit with dramatic gas price changes (not that I remember, at least), but I've been feeling the increase, so I know how dramatic it must be for places like New York and down "south". Anyone remember back in like 2004 where gas prices were at $1.30? Let's make a time machine. :/
Grunt Issun
Logicly, and knowing how much you love logic, wouldn't a time machine not be able to go back to before it was complete, other wise there wouldn't be a time machine in existance, so, in order to prevent a time paradox, it would be destroyed, and, possibly, so would you, other wise, there would be a time paradox, in which, the time stream could be utterly destroyed. if non of the above did happen, what would you do? Buy a bunch of gas in containers, then bring it into the future until you run out, then go back agian?h

Grunt Issun
agreed, cars aren't supposed to be huge status symbols, IMO there to get you from one place to another faster. A 3rd gen Prius gets like, what? 50 miles to the gallon? I'd say thats pretty good, considering the prices

But technically, you'd need to harness a near infinite amount of energy to go both forward and back in time, and both cannot even be proven to actually exist (although time travel forward is more likely than backward). I don't know how many gallons that is (if you live in US).. the highest prices I've seen are $1.5 but they got low again and now they're slowly rising..Why don't people buy ELECTRIC CARS?? You save gas and the environment.. SO WHAT if the electric cars cost a bit more... In the long run, you'll get what you paid for..
