Round 1: Macro
Game 1: Uh oh, worst matchup. Drew into Mirage and a decent setup with, I think a Grepher. He proceeded to activate D-Fissure, which I couldn’t get past for the entire game, for not drawing into any Spell/Trap destruction.
Game 2: Drew into Inferno, Mirage, Trunade. There’s nothing really more to say.
Game 3: Drew into a pretty nice hand, and managed to beat him down to about 5600 within a couple of turns, whilst setting up to OTK, but he then activated D-Fissure and Soul Absorption (pro Macro tech) which I got rid of eventually, but he then activated D-Fissure, which I couldn’t get round because I’d used all my Spell/Trap destruction on the D-Fissure etc.

0-1 (not a good start)

Round 2: Terrible Samurais...
Game 1: Yeah, our locals, like every locals, fall victim to the likes of players like this... She always goes 1-X or 0-X in tournaments... I managed to get out a couple of big Synchros, including a Gishilnodon, which I pumped up to 3000 and beat her down. Towards the end I just Laucher’d back 2 Archfiends, searched 2 things which I discarded for the Brionac I had out, bounced her monsters and attacked for game.
Game 2: Basically just OTK’d her turn 3 and she was disappoint.

1-1

Round 3: Machina Gadgets
Game 1: All he drew was Gadgets and Scrap Recycler and he had no way of getting out Fortress. I OTK’d him relatively quickly.
Game 2: I drew terribly, and he just had Solidarity and Gadgets beating me down all the way, and I didn’t draw any of the Pulling the Rugs he sided in. When I drew the Cyber Dragon and fused with 2 Gadgets for Chimeratech, he just went Gearframe, search Fortress and Attack with Limiter Removal over Fortress Dragon. He just beat me down with Solid Gadgets all game.
Game 3: I didn’t draw into the OTK, but I did draw into enough to get Doom Dragon backed up with Barrier, Break and other random backrows. He was forced to Set Gadgets, which I then blew up with Doom Dragon and slowly burned him. Then I topped a Grepher and started beating him down.

2-1

Round 4: SimochiBurn
Game 1: Really easy matchup, because he had nothing to stop me OTKing. I drew into most of the stuff I needed for the OTK, and Gold Sarco’d what I needed. I got 8100 damage on the third turn.
Game2: I drew a good hand, and was pondering what I was going to do while my opponent made his first move. He summoned Nurse Reficule and activated two Upstart Goblins, putting me down to 6000. He set 3 backrows, and as I drew I said “You’re not going to double Gift Card me, are you?” He proceeded to say “sorry” and flipped double Gift Card
Game 3: Drew pretty nicely, and managed to OTK him on turn 3.

3-1

Top 8: Blackwings
Game 1: This guy had a pretty good deck, but he wasn’t a brilliant player. He managed to scrub his way into top 8 with a record of 2-2. Game 1 I basically OTK’d him after a few turns, not much different to the way the deck normally runs.
Game 2: Managed to get out a Doom Dragon with a lot of backrows again, including a Barrier. This is pretty much the same way I won a game against the Machina Gadgets earlier. He managed to make a few good plays, Vayu Synchroing and dropping Gale, halving the Grepher that I wanted to survive to setup the OTK, but eventually I topped Mirror Force and I stalled out with the Scrap-Iron Scarecrows I sided in anyway (mainly to stop Shura plays and Bora + Sirocco plays but they helped otherwise). I just burned/beat down with Doom Dragon until it was game.

Top 4: Lightsworn
Game 1: Yeah, this is the guy that pretty much wins every time he enters this event. The guy who owns the shop is a bit adamant about keeping his shop tidy, and he sometimes says, “If you guys don’t clean this place up, Sam won’t get his prize support next week”. Yeah, this guy was called Sam, if you didn’t notice. Anyways, game 1 I kind of sacked the OTK on him and won within turn 2. Lightsworn is a pretty good matchup because they only run Necro Gardna to stop me OTKing, which he never got into the Grave anyway.
Game 2: He sided into Twilight, presumabley to remove Archfiends and Grephers and stop me OTKing. I didn’t really draw into anything to setup OTKing, and he OTK’d me with double JD and Sorc.
Game 3: He milled all the Crows and Veilers he sided in, so I could safely OTK, which I didn’t do, but I managed to do 6700 and get a Necromancer, Beetle, Stardust and Gishilnodon (already used up the Android, so I couldn’t Synchro with Necromancer + Beetle (No, I don’t own a Catastor)). He managed to get round my Stardust because I didn’t read the Honest he had, but then I topped a Reborn, then went into a nuking Black Rose and revived Stardust with Reborn for game.

Top 2: Gravekeepers
Game 1: Oh dear, another bad matchup, and it was even more disappointing since it had to be top 2 when I got a terrible matchup. I drew terrible. Got two Break face-down, with targets (thanks to Royal Tribute first turn...) but Necrovalley of course stops break from activating and I drew into nothing to get rid of Necrovalley.
Game 2: Drew quite well this time, with setup for the OTK and Spell/Trap destruction in the form of an MST. I MST the Necrovalley, but he activates another one which I couldn’t get round for the rest of the game. I would’ve easily OTK’d him otherwise. I suppose that’s what Necrovalley does though...

So I got top 2 with Infernities with only 1 Barrier. I really like the deck! So far it is 5-2 in Tournament (This was my first tournament running Infernities) and only defeated about 4 times out of uncountable times in friendly games, with only 1 Barrier. I can’t wait to get my playset!

There's always new people at tournaments. My friends and I used to always reach top 3 at our locals because most of the people used inconsistent or themeless decks, plus some thought card effects were different than they really were (such as Pyro Clock of Destiny skipping your opponent's turn).

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't win your final match due to a bad draw and matchup, but at least you got second.

That would be SO COOL

Yes, it would be cool, but then the card would be banned.

This happened in the final round of the tournament like 4 years ago. When he first activated it I thought it was because I had Swords of Revealing Light on the field (which would be random and stupid anyways), but then he said that it made me skip my turn. Obviously we got a judge over there and they learned that it wasn't true.

Thanks guys, you is all awesome! @Jord200, I was considering the option of AFD, but I thought not because it may waste needed Extra Deck space if I didn't end up playing Keepers. Also the fact that I don't have one and cba to get one. Plus the other fact that Infernities don't make Level 7's easily, especially with the Graveyard locked down.

EDIT: BTW, forgot to add that every time I offered my deck to the Lightsworn guy to shuffle it after I searched through it, he stacked it. All the time putting either my Archfiends or my Necromancers all in a clump near the bottom of my Deck, and I still won.

Monster line-up was perfect, spell and traps need alot of work.

Side + Extra need a bit of work too.

Congrats none the less.
Yeah I know the s/ts need work, I was thinking -2 Compulsory +1 Barrier (when I get it, which will be in a couple of weeks I think) +1 Gold Sarc (works so well it's unbelievable). Can't really afford Warnings or Dualities quite yet either, but BTH will do for now. Thanks anyways :D

Sarc is terrible in Infernities, you're better off running 3 Upstart.
Allure is terrible here and one for one is inconsistent.
Sarc worked incredibly actually, I wouldn't have won half as many games without it. Tbh you're right about Allure, but I'm not sure what to add in if I were to take it out, and One for One actually tested fine.
huh

When did I Spec 2 Archfiends with Launcher?

Oh right that. Yeah I searched 2 things. I can't remember what I searched, but it didn't matter because I just discarded them for Brionac immediately after I searched them. It was the only reason I even searched them.

@Rebel, not a bad idea, might test it.

You can't search 2 things if you go for 2 archfiends with mirage or launcher.

Also sarc is horrible.
Really? Oh, I would have won anyway, she was on 100 Life Points, had no backrows and 2 monsters on the field. I had a full field of beatsticks.

Also Sarco is not horrible. It wins every game I play when I draw it.
"It's possible to miss the timing with Optional Trigger Effects, unlike Compulsory Trigger Effects. An Optional Effect "misses the timing" when the triggering condition isn't the last effect to happen in the game state, or didn't happen in the last Chain Link in the current chain.

Most of the time, Optional Trigger Effects can be identified by observing the words, "When...you can..." in a monster's effect text."

A common question is, "What happens when two Optional Trigger Effects try to activate at the same time?" For example, two copies of "Mystic Tomato" destroy each other in battle. Neither will miss the timing, as the last thing to happen was both being sent to the Graveyard. Both of the effects trigger at the same time, and form a Chain. The Turn Player's effect becomes Chain Link 1, and the opponent's effect becomes Chain Link 2.

Only the activation of an Optional Trigger Effect can miss the timing. In other word, as long as the effect is activated, the resolution will never miss the timing. So two monsters will be summoned in the above example.
Based on that, I say they both would activate their effects.

They both activate, 1 add card to the hand, then the other can resolve because the requirements are not fulfilled or some BS like that.

Also Sarc sucks, Upstart is better.

Trust me, I know.

It says neither would miss the timing because they activate at the same time. If they activated one after the other they would miss the timing, but they're Summoned at the same time and activate their effects at the same time, forming 2 different chains.
It's not the fact that they miss the timing... >_>
