Request: Rules

Frunk

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask somebody to write a rule (for the Rules), regarding everything to do with the reputation system. Including rep abuse, rep scamming, rep limits (reps as prizes), shops and requests information, etc., etc.

Also, if someone could write a rule about flooding, it would be greatly appreciated. Whether you incoporate this into spam or something else is up to you. (If you don't know what it is, don't bother)

The best rules will receive +1 reps each, and be added to the official rules. 8)

Thanks, Frunk.

Rule Regarding Reputation

You may NOT, under any circumstances, charge reputation points for anything, be it a graphic or otherwise. You may give 2 and only 2 reputation points per request. If you are requesting multiple images/otherwise, you may only offer two for the lot. You may NEVER trade reputation points for points, or vice versa.

More to come..?

The Reputation System

The Reputation System

What it is:

The reputation system is a way to give other members reputation points. These will show up in the number under Status. Depending on the number of reps you have the number will vary. You can also give negative reps for members not behaving, or breaking some rules. IF you wish to argue a negative rep and get it removed, post in the Reputation Complaint thread in the General Section.

How it works:

Click on a members reputation count and click "Rate user" There you can give out either positives or negatives while giving a reason.

Rep abuse and scamming:

Reputation abuse is giving members absurd amounts of reputation points ( Positive or Negative) for stupid reasons. Also, asking for reputation points, begging for reputation points, paying for reputation points, and making a double account and giving yourself reputation points are all bannable offenses. Please be sure to keep the amount of reps you give at a time minimal and not try to over do it.

Reps as payment prizes:

In the contest section it is possible to hold a contest and give both points and reps for prizes. When hosting a contest and giving out reputation points for prizes you should keep the amount of reps for first place around 2-3 and not higher. This doesn't include reps for second, and third place.

Reps in the shop section:

As of 01-13-2008 you can no longer buy graphics or sell graphics in the Shops/Requests section using reputation points. This was due to the large amount of reputation points being unfairly earned for simple tasks. You may only use points for that section now.

In conclusion:

In conclusion you should remember that the reputation system does not determine how good a member is. You shouldn't judge a person by their reputation count because it does not make them any better of a member.

Sorry it's a little minimal. I'm a little tired :/

Flooding

Flooding

What it is:

Flooding is when someone spams up a topic or many topics, in which can be costly in terms of wasting good bandwidth and can be harmful to the reliability of a computer network. Flooding can also be seriously annoying to other members on the forum. A serious case of flooding is when a member posts many new threads in one Forum. Another word that indirectly relates to flooding is SPAM

In Other terms:

Another directation to flooding is when someone has already said the exact same thing such as "Plz Lock This" or "This is Spam". Technically, if this has only said once, there is no need for it to be said again, if so, this is called Spam, or if there is many of them, it is called Flooding. Instead of saying "Plz Lock", report the post to a mod via the REPORT button, and a mod will lock it when they can

Concequences:

BY the use of Spamming and or flooding a certain Forum, a ban will be initiated. By how much you flood the forum/thread depends on the time of your ban.

In conclusion:

If you accidentally make two threads for a topic, ask a mod to lock it. Flooding is generally annoying, in which, try posting cards in ONE whole thread, especially if you are posting many cards within a certain time frame.

I tried my best on this one by using Tkills method...
