@Toshiro: I know you two a battling now, but me and you battle was a 4-way. Lex forfeited, but it was still me vs you vs bs. so even though you left the battle it would of still been me vs BS well in a normal 3-way, but in a Triple Threat the first opponent to take out another, even if the third party isn't evolved, wins. So what I was actually asking was our battle a 3-way or was it a Triple Threat.

I'd have to go with the game, because even though the anime gives more freedom in battles there's far more drawbacks:

 

*The Need to actually feed Pokemon

*The fact that Pokemon have to be taught a lot of moves instead of learning them naturally

*Just running into a random patch of tall grass won't make a pokemon appear

and

*A pokemon seems to evolve more out of stress than just by leveling up. this is usually in the middle of an important battle and if it's a drastic change(such as when Turtwig evolved to Grotle) it could cause a battle lost
