But Shard without stupidity is like YCM without stupidity. :(

There will always be stupid people on the intrawebz, but the majority of them are just plain ignorant, as in they choose to be stupid. Without stupid and ignorant people, who will make us feel smart? :3

Supposedly, a new exceed that will be coming out will have an effect to discard exceed material in order to destroy one card on the field and remove it from play. If its not a once per turn effect, it'll be spammed with skill drain so people will use the effect once and aim for target card, opponent uses stardust, then they'll reuse said exceed effect to destroy target card, then skill drain to keep the exceed if it has a decent ATK/DEF. another combo is forbidden lance/skill drain and then use the exceeds effect against stardust.

Skill Drain doesn't touch Stardust, because Stardust Tributes itself as a cost, and the rest of the effect resolves off the field.

As I've said many times, this is broken. This literally makes any card with the word "destroy" in there text box that much weaker.

There are several cards with "destroy" in their text that get around it.

But, IMO, this thing is a necessary evil. Otherwise, there's be no point in making a strong field when the opponent can just proceed to kill everything with a few cards.

Gravekeeper Duelist: Mirror Force...
Duelist 2: Stardust.
GraveKeeper Duelist: *points at Necrovalley*
Duelist 2: Fawk!

Stardust gets around Necrovalley. Necrovalley's errata states that cards that affect themselves still work.

Did not know that, glad to know now. Tomorrow me and a player who uses a skill drain deck are gonna have alittle chat...

Be sure to explain that Skill Drain only negates the effects of face-up monsters on the field. Stardust Tributes itself as a cost and is no longer on the field when its effect resolves. The same is true for Lonefire Blossom and Exiled Force.
