Mehmani
Morally it's an abhorrent concept, but it is an extremely useful tool for negotiation.

Nathanael D. Striker
Diplomatic Immunity (noun): exemption from taxation, searches, arrest, etc., enjoyed by diplomatic officials and their dependent families under international law, and usually on a reciprocal basis. Honestly, it can be abused.
Tentacruel
So in other words, if I was elected President I could turn my house into a Meth Lab? Time to go to law school.
Cin
It was shown best in CSI: Miami. One of the people who was found to have killed someone with his car got off because he was the son of a diplomat. Unfair for the victim (of course Horatio got him later, when he found out the person wasn't actually the biological son and his 'father' rebuked his diplomatic immunity) Useful if the crime isn't too great, but when it makes it so victims cannot get justice how is it fair? The Borg
If I recall correctly it can be taken away for a capital crime, but I am not sure.

Brushfire
There's been a lot of huff and puff about Labour MP's abusing it in the UK fairly recently. Honestly I see it as hypocritical and somewhat immoral, but that's just my opinion. I'm sure if I was the son of a diplomat I'd be speaking differently.
