Akira
While it has always been the case, I've noticed that going first in this format seems to generate a ridiculous advantage swing more so than it has done in the past. Just a few examples I've encountered on DN: -I open with Warning but have to play 2nd -Opponent opens Tengu and a load of back cards -Opponent goes first and opens Laquari + 4 back cards -Opponent opens Hamster + Back cards and Monarch in hand And so on, I'm sure you've all been in similar situations. IMO half the problem is Storm being banned causing people to throw down their entire hands without thinking. Stupid players get rewarded for stupid plays amirite? Akira
Would appreciate if a mod cleaned this up, I feel like I've wasted time making it after 8 off topic replies.

White Void
Considering the difficulty of beating a first turn Shi En with Warning play, I'm fully compelled to agree with you.
CDDRodrigo
Thanks Marble. Now on topic: Going first in the last few formats is being really important indeed. That really hurts the game and I don't like it.
~British Soul~
..and there are some decks who just hate to go second (i.e. Dragunities)
.Rai
They make DEF completely useless and make going first how you win. Konami logic strikes again. They really need to stop making swarm and beatstick archetypes and make a defensive, control archetype. Seriously, otherwise it's basically: Go first, Synchro Spam, draw tons, Set 5. End turn. Herp derp.
Akira
It wasn't even as bad in Tele-DAD days when the best deck was so much faster. Defence hardly mattered and unless you were unlucky enough to be staring down 3 Solemn Judgments, getting the first attack in could prove helpful =/
Guy was IP banned, give me a moment to clean the threads up.
Thanks. Mods in the past have often banned the culprit but left the thread in a messed up state resulting in no further replies, so I was just making sure :
JadenxAtemYAOI
Probably one of Happster's alts. s for your topic I have to agree. Best bet is bring out BRD for field nuking and royal decree got more likes because like you said, people put their whole hand down. Now I will be summarizing a duel I had recently and these are close to his exact words. Me: hi DA12: Roll DA12: Already DA12: Hurry Me: Rolls 6 DA12: Rolls 2 Me: *my hand* Royal Decree, dark bribe, Ryko, JD, and celestia. I set Royal Decree, bribe, and set Ryko. DA12: I destroy your face down with MST(decree) Me: chained dark bribe DA12: Sets 5 TRAPS and summons sangan in attack mode. Me: chains royal decree DA12: My DA12:Atk DA12: Still DA12: Goes DA12: through Ryko flips and destroys his sangan. I mill Wulf, Garoth, Luminia. My turn: I draw Judgment Dragon. I tribute Wulf to summon Celestia. I destroy two of his facedowns and mill necro gardna, wulf, glow-up bulb, and plaguespreader zombie. I special summoned Glow Up Bulb and the milled wulf and milled another wulf because of bulb. I synchro summon Mist Wurm bouncing his three other traps back. I activated Plaguespreader and synchro summoned what i think was Red Dragon. Anyway I special summoned JD both JD and attacked then he goes on to say DA12: You DA12: Cheated DA12: You DA12: Play DA12: To DA12: Win DA12: Play DA12: Right Me: Hun, it's a meta deck and your fault for having a 60 card deck and if you actually knew how i was on here you'd know I always report my loss because I play for FUN. A level 1 person isn't this good but since you're the type of whiny b**** my motto talks about i'm reporting I won. If you report anything else i'm reporting you DA12: NO DA12: I'M DA12: BEING DA12: ROBBED Me: Fine. Round 2? DA12: DON'T DA12: CHEAT I use the tengu plant parts in my side deck. Me: Rolls 5 DA12: Rolls 2 Me: Sets Decree, Bribe, Summon blossom. tribute blossom. Special summon Gigaplant. Special summon another blossom through giga then bring out another giga. Mehmani
We really do need more generic S/T removal, or at least have MST @3.
~British Soul~
unless you were unlucky enough to be staring down 3 Solemn Judgments
i forgot the Solemn Judgment was @3 until Setptember '09 i just hate how n00bs who build "fun" decks complain when they lose to a Meta Deck, the last time i had this incident was i lost the dice roll and i was selected to go first, i drop Gate of the DW, set 1 card set Sangan and end he fails to complete his FTK on his first turn and was annoyed, i then proceed to beat him and he complained that i cheated

Ieyasu Tokugawa
Or we need this: Slip Trap Trap Card This card can be activated from your hand. Activate only during your opponent's turn. All the following effects apply, until the End Phase: *Whenever your opponent Special Summons a monster from their hand or Deck, you can Special Summon a monster from your hand. *Whenever your opponent sets a Spell or Trap Card, you can set 1 Spell or Trap Card from your hand. *Whenever your opponent Special Summons a monster from the Extra Deck, you can send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard. wiithepeople
In terms of defensive decks, I know of: Rock Stun, which takes skill to play right. Watt decks, which haven't been seeing alot of play unfortuantely. Naturia, even when they Synchro Spam into Barkion-Beast-Stardust, they're still defensive.
