Cloister
This is an awesome card! It's worth using just for the second effect. But look at hand?! BRUTAL.
D.A._Sakuyamon
I like that even though it's not instant speed, it's free cost makes it almost as fast as an instant.

King of Nothing
looking at the enemy's hand isn't as great as you'd think. The card is good, pay two life for a draw, but drawing in MTG is easy...really easy. I'd rather run ponder tbh

-Lightray Daedalus-
Blue is quite splasheble anyways And to acompain Ponder there is Preordain...

-Lightray Daedalus-
Ponder + Preordain was what I said...and No Ponder and preordain completely outclasses this card If wondering why it is becuase...controlling what you will draw > than drawing blindy

King of Nothing
In most situations, looking at your opponents hand just means you know what they're going to beat you with. I know if someone peeked at my hand in my deck (which is green) they'd be more confused then if they just expected a normal green deck. My deck is Regenerate Lure Deathtouch, btw Its fun Anyways, @this card - It would have been better if it was black. In all colors but black, life DOES make a difference. Of course, life wasn't such a big deal in an infect deck, but I think this card is just over rated. This would have been a better blue one drop - Counter target spell with converted mana cost 1. ...owait
D.A._Sakuyamon
My reasoning is that I like it more then ponder and the other card. I could careless about what my I could be seeing a few draws from now or seeing the other players hand. I just want something that's dirt cheap and fast. D.A._Sakuyamon
Gitaxian Probe

Early Game, has explosive power, pay max 8 (assuming you luck out with 4...........course that's not necessarily a good thing in itself) Deck goes from 60 to 53 to 52-49 and you haven't even played any lands.
Middle game, less powerful but can still be useful for free.
Late game, you either have a plan or your stupid to pay 2 life for this.
Ponder

Early game, sets up for next 1 if you hit another. But wont give the explosiveness as Probe
Middle Game, yeah this is around the time where this is going to get explosive.
Late game, set up for win or just to get that draw to win
Preordain

Early game, well depending on what you see, you can set stuff up next 1-2 turns, if not you just sack 1 to the bottom, or both to draw blindly.
Middle game, I feel this is where it shines most but that just me.
Late game, basically ponder but with less of a look.
Now, I'm going to say that I'd run probe at 4 and ponder at 3. (no running of preordain). The way I see it. You could set yourself up to draw Probe with Ponder and then draw again. So the two combo fairly well. I don't hate ponder, it's just not as necessary to run many if your going to run Probe.
King of Nothing
Erm, I didn't say this card was unplayable. 4 of these into 4 ponders = 4 mana + 8 life for draw 8. I just said it was out classed and, as I believe I said before, definately would fit better in black.
